Lamon. Late. This fight very well could have happened. Lamon sure had his fair share of bouts that fell apart that looked real nice for us fans--what was it Sanders 2x and Tua once, and this was prior to licking Wladimir. Big $$ fights just never seemed to be in the boxing cards for Lamon Brewster. He's the rare breed that keeps his power throughout the fight. And a guy that certainly can fight from behind, unlike so many of the heavyweight frontrunners. If Hasim is down 8 rounds to 2 to this guy, he simply is not rallying to win the fight. That's the opponents strength in this matchup. Brewster definately loses a lot of rounds to that jab. But Rahman's punches aside from that--the swinging gate left hook and even his right hand, are not going to have an effect on Brewster. His chin and big heart keep him in there all 12 rounds. I think the left hook to the body Brewster throws devastates Rahman. It might take 9 rounds, but that was a brutal punch and he'd throw it knowing he was going to eat right hand counters. I don't see the Rock handling body shots well and when hurt he'll do like always and back himself to the ropes. Wrong place to be against this guy winging away. Brewster also threw a real sneaky left uppercut when he had guys on the ropes. I think Rock gets hurt and finished on the ropes by a lefthook/left uppercut/ or a right hand late. Entertaining fight and probably looks like the Ettienne bout but Rahman does not weather a late storm the way the Black Rhino did.

Sorry, just can't go with Brewster in this one. He was strong, and relentless, and devastating and all that but he's just not that good at boxing and moving. His victory over WK was a miracle so it would very wrong to base his chances on that one lottery win. Rahman takes it on points at least.
Just before anyone jumps in with the 'Brewster lost to shufford etc' shyte...Well Maskaev was brutally kayoed by Whitaker in 2 and he managed to do a no. on Rahman twice! Brewster grinds him down. Brewster is seriously overlooked! Watch this then go watch Golota v Byrd and Ruiz: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSEOIknE9_4[/ame]
i think both rahman and brewster are underrated.it would have been a great fight but unfortunately it didn t happen
