Like many stated above, Haye plays it safe and lands a few bombs, possibly dropping Ruddock in the process. Then Ruddock takes over and gets Haye out of there within 8.

That's what I thought too. But rethinking some of the comments that a few of the other posters put forth, its also a possibility that Haye would run, clinch, cheat and do whatever he could to avoid being hit the way he did against guys like Klitschko and Valuev. It's also worth mentioning that Haye could crack, was quick on his feet, and could box a little. Donoven's defense wasn't great and while his chin was better than average it could also be cracked. I'm not sold on an outcome either way.

Like I stated earlier, I could easily see Haye wiping out Ruddock in devastating fashion like Lewis did. I'm left puzzled at comments like Ruddock would take over.... take over doing what exactly? From the odd bomb that 90% of the time misses. If Wlad couldn't get Haye out of there I believe Ruddock would struggle like mad with only his Smash.

I don't know if I can see Haye demolishing Ruddock in two rounds the way that Lewis did. Lennox was a natural heavyweight at 6'5", 227 lbs with freakish power and well on his way to being an ATG. Haye on the other hand has failed to impress at heavyweight and STILL hasn't beaten anyone on Ruddock's level. Dereck Chisora may well be his best victory over 200 lbs. But with all that said I concur that Haye COULD POTENTIALLY win. I think he's more mobile than Ruddock and far less one dimensional. He certainly has more punches in his arsenal than Ruddock's smash left hook along with more speed and stamina. And while I'm not sold on Haye hitting quite as hard he definitely has enough power to hurt almost any heavyweight. If Haye wins I could see him doing it in a beat down over several rounds like he did against Ruiz or maybe a 12 round decision. And of course the possibility of Ruddock catching him square on the chin with one of those smash lefts and ending abruptly is always a threat.... Not a fight I'd put a whole lot of money on.. No way.

My gut feeling is that Haye would not do enough to get Ruddock out of there early, and he would then start to gas in the later rounds.

Eventually Ruddock would take him into deep water and drown him.

Haye hits like a truck if nothing else, I just imagine Ruddock would come out of the blocks guns blazing and walk into a monster right hand. It's a fight I'd definitely pay to see that's for sure.

Assuming that both men went in with the intention to actually "fight" and not preserve themselves then yes... It WOULD be an entertaining affair.

Well I think it's safe to say on Ruddock's part that would not be the case. I could imagine Haye might pull out with an injured toe or something....

Either that or choose not to engage and fight to survive as he did against Klitscko. But something tells me that wouldn't be the case here. I think Haye was afraid of Wlad's size advantage - something that Ruddock wouldn't have "as much" of.

What do you think taking over means? It's not that hard. You know, like what Ruddock did to Bonecrusher and Dokes, and tried unsuccessfully to do against Tyson, after tasting the canvas!! Haye wiping out Ruddock in similar fashion like Lewis did is actually moronic, because Haye was the second coming of Lennox Lewis and all...pfffftttttttt LMFAO!!!

Wlad was afraid of getting his wig split. Ruddock obviously wouldn't be afraid and after sampling Haye's power he'd increase his offensive output and get the job done, in my opinion.

Wouldn't you agree that Wlad was afraid of getting his chin checked as well? The excessive holding caused the action slow down quite a bit. Someone like Ruddock throws caution into the wind and sets a higher pace, which could benefit Haye but would also put Haye in the danger zone.

The same Smith and Dokes that were old enough to collect their bus pass.....

Ruddock had one shot only, Haye has the ability to avoid it. Who says you have to be the new Lennox Lewis to stop Ruddock?? Don't be getting upset because your hero Tinkerbell hit him with everything he got and couldn't get him out of there......

If Ruddock wasn't afraid of getting tagged by Haye he'd soon regret it after getting dropped by a big right, he liked to do the Chicken Dance didn't he.....

He'd increase his output hey? Would that make it 3 Smashes per round instead of 2? Moron......

Well, lets face it with Ruddock---you have 2 major problems as the fight evolves; paltry punch output & boxing brains/smarts. And his punch output actually exceeds his ringsmarts.
