Yeah because a shot Louis really compares to a prime Liston

Louis was knocking six bells out of Pat Valentino, Nino Valdes, Clarence Henry And Henry Hall the same year he fought Charles. I know Louis was never as good by then as he had been before the war but this is absolutely world class form. If Charles made Louis look shot it must have been because he was on a much higher level than Valdes and Clarance Henry etc were that year.

What I want to know is, were the guys Liston beat Ever that much better than Valdes, Elmer Ray, Clarance Henry, Jonny Shkor, Tommy Flynn and Roscoe Tolles who “shot” Joe Louis was still beating up and knocking out?

Liston vs Charles, WH title on the line, then Charles is gonna be ko'd, left hook would put his lights out.

It was just when Sonny had the title that he seemed to relax a little. Some have said Sonny was one of those destined to become champion but not necessarily being able to maintain the focus once he got there. If anything Liston certainly looked better before he won the championship. So I’m not so sure he was a safer bet with the title on the line.

A series of exhibitions against former contenders and unknown youngsters is not "world class form".

A prime HW Liston would, eventually, find a prime "HW" Ezz and end the proceedings.

Lol :imwithstupid: Who are these made up list of names choke claimed Louis beat?

Look at his pro Record, he never fought hall Valdes ray Henry Shkor Flynn or toles

Liston knocked out Patterson 2x in one round. Whose better than anyone Charles won a series against. He also beat prime versions of Machen Williams 2x and Folley. He had no bad losses near his prime like Charles did.

Ps Charles didn’t need to make Louis look shot. Louis made himself look shot with how slowish his reflexes right hand and reaction times were

from 1948-1950 joe fought another 19 times in 1948 (including bouts against Arturo Godoy, Billy Conn and Jimmy Bivins that were certainly competitive), 36 times in 1949 ( including bouts with Curtis Shepherd, Elmer Ray, olimio Agramante, bill Gilliam, Nino Valdes, Rex Layne, Tommy Flynn, Johnny Shkor and Roscoe Tolles) and 24 times in 1950 (including bouts with Pat Valentino, Clarence Henry, Nino Valdes, Henry Hall) so that count becomes 1+79 fights for the period dosnt it? You can dismiss them as mere exhibitions but guys were knocked out by Joe Louis here. Some were 10 rounders with News paper decisions. Some Real fights, often with no head guards but no official decision.

Well he only defended title twice and yes he did lose focus, it taking him a whole 4 seconds longer to dispose of Patterson in their second fight, damn if he had only kept focus. as for losing to Clay/Ali, well Liston was just one of many to lose to the Greatest.

Don’t even bother. Choke admitted joining this forum in 09 with the sole purpose to “debunk he myth of Sonny Liston”

    He is a troll

    Liston wins.
Liston was once thought of pretty highly here and I'm one of those who did and still do think highly of him. Hes been slowly getting dumped on for a while now.
Anyway again I got Liston here.

Charles was a very good fighter and I think he could take quite a few rounds from Liston. But in the end both a smaller Rocky Marciano and a terribly old and shop worn Louis, busted Charle’s face up. Sonny being larger and in Prime would stop Ezzard sometime after the 8th round. Tko with Ref stepping in or corner waving the towel. However I could easily see Charles being on even terms for the first half of the fight

Never admitted to anything of the kind. You are going to have to stop saying this. Please feel free to post proof of this nonsense. Seems whenever you cannot disagree with me you resort to calling me a troll.
