I don't see too much difference between Randy and Fedor size wise, Fedor has never cut to LHW but he spent alot of his career around the 225lbs mark.

The difference would clearly be in skill, most of Randy's sucess down the years has come from exploiting the weaknesses of his opponants. We saw vs even a declined Nog than someone with the ability to threaten him anywhere the fight goes is a terrible matchup. Randy has never had an offencive tool to threaten Fedor, no real power in his hands and not that great a sub game.

Couture has had a great career but in terms of profile/rep I think he's far more *cringe* "overrated". He's pulled off a number of big wins but history has shown that they often werent as big as they appeared at the time, Vitor wasnt the god he looked like in the early days, Tito wasnt near to the best LHW, Gonzaga was a one hit wonder etc. Add to that he's lost as often as he's won in big fights and I think you've got someone who was often in the right place at the right time.

    :good:good

To be honest I dont think couture would fair too well against some of prides lhw either:

    Wanderlei
    Shougun
    Overeem
    Rampage
    Henderson
    Arona

I think he would lose to more on this list than he would win. Randy's win over liddel was his greatest win for sure, but he didnt even come close to duplicating that victory in the rematch and rubber match. I think it is more a case of liddell not being 100% for that fight.

    completely agree with this.

Couture is a fantastic fighter for sure, but when he competed in japan he did not have succsess.

Sylvia was too predictable and a little head movement on the part of randy was too much for him to handle even when sylvia's strength was supposed to be boxing!

Randy is no match for fedor, but I would have still watched it hoping that couture could at least trouble fedor with his wrestling and to see what gameplan couture would use (randy coutures dirty boxing techniques are some of my favourite to watch in mma, though I think being in the clinch with fedor is a very bad idea)

this was the dream match up a couple of years ago

    then it was fedor lesnar

fedor could have fought these dream matches and won instead of being so ****ing inactive

well lesnar and couture could join strikeforce as well and get the fight, I bet it wont ever happen though.......

I think lesnar and couture are afraid of the competition in strikeforce!!!! (sarcasm)

To be fair to Randy I think his sub game was much better a couple of years after his RINGS loses. There was also the thumb poke in the second Chuck fight and by the third match he really didnt look in good form while going though his devorce.

Still as you say I think he'd have had trouble agenst alot of the guys at LHW let alone HW in Pride, espeically Shogun and Rogerio.
