    Posted this a while ago on the classic. Let's see how opinion pans out here.


    The Bugner who was fighting Ali,Frazier and Lyle in between 1973-77 versus the Bruno of 1987-89.

    I think Bugner could outbox Bruno for a points win.

    I see Bugner outlasting Bruno,and stopping him in the late phase of the fight. If Joe was up for it.

    By the way,Bruno would take an early lead,but gas out eventually.

    Bugner is underrated IMHO and he was better than Bruno. Bugner decision.

    I agree about Joe being underrated. I rank him the fourth best all time British heavy. Behind Lewis,Fitzimmons,and Farr.

    You'd be surprised some of the names that crop up when you do a Brit Heavyweight all-time top 10. The competition isn't exactly fierce outside the first few (couple?) places.

    Bugner had a fantastic chin was defensively sound and had a decent jab. he would certainly have stood up to Bruno's bombs. Bruno would have been made to work by a young bugner and on that basis I go with Bruno taking an early lead but running out of gas and losing late on, either to a stoppage or on points.

    More than anything it depends which Bugner turns up. The up for it one would outlast Frank for a comfortable points win.

    Young Bugner would UD Bruno. he has many more boxing skills and litres in his gas tank than Frank. If the fight was 15 rounds Buger stops him between 12-15
