Haye would use the same tactics he used vs Wlad but AJ can't control the range like prime Wlad. Haye would run for 6 rounds before landing a wild swinging hayemaker and then finish off AJ.

    Haye wins 7/10.

AJs power and Hayes chin means there's always a chance of an AJ KO, though a motivated Haye focused on his game plan would win comfortably.

David Haye's getting a bit overrated again now he's retired from boxing.

Knocked down by Lolenga Mock, stopped by Carl Thompson, knocked down by Jean Marc Mormeck, knocked down by Monte Barrett, wobbled badly by Chisora .... he punked out against Klitschko .... his comeback/career was ended by the little underdog Tony Bellew with two devastating defeats. .... and his body was the definition of fragile.

.... and people are talking like Joshua's the vulnerable one here.

Haye was vulnerable and had his flaws definitely. But he was very good and talented. He was crippled in the Bellew fights so they don't count for me. You don't have to be some amazing beast to beat AJ, look at Ruiz.

Yeah but he had almost freakish punch power in either hand from any angle. Slight issue for the proven china in AJ mandible.

Was Haye really wobbled by Chisora? I am sure he was knocked off balance at the end of a round but wasn't wobbled

Don’t think it’s the fact he’s overrated, he unified a division beating the main man, and moved up and performed ‘okay’.
Hayes problem has always been keeping himself fit and motivated. A full fit David Haye I believe is a worst style match up possible for AJ. He likes to fight taller stiffer guys. Absolute hates fighting a little man (his own words) the guy had trouble with Ruiz, Haye would give him nightmares. Also AJ be avoiding Hayes big right hand like the plague.

Haye just always flattered to deceive and was far too inactive, his mouth also didn’t win over many fans, but got people talking and tuned in.

Should have retired at 30. Much of the talk is that’s why he and Adam Booth went their seperate ways. Hayes injuries were catching up with him and he was getting beat up in sparring by people he shouldn’t be having any difficulty with. Booth said you’ll never be what you were and not be champion again and they went their separate ways.

Booth himself has said had Haye beat Wlad and retired, he wouldn’t have trained again either.

    Yes, look at Ruiz.
He had to walk through punches that would have probably knocked Haye cold.

Yeah, but how likely is Haye to land a KO punch on Joshua when he's the smaller man, scared stiff and has a china chin himself ?

He struggled for 9 rounds to finish a completely shot 38 year old John Ruiz and he knocked out Chisora. ... but who else did he ever KO ? Audley Harrison ?

The bottom line is : just about every criticism of weakness and vulnerability Joshua can be charged with .... Haye can be charged with too, and more so.

The odds are that Joshua gets Haye out of there first or has him running around the ring for a clear points win over 12 boring rounds.
Haye just wasn't good at all.

Yeah, but he was supposed to destroy Wladimir Klitschko too, if you listened to Haye says.
But I guess he'd say he wasn't "full fit David Haye" for that fight.
I guess without the bruised toe he would have destroyed the tall stiff Wlad too ........ ?

lol, Chisoras's chin is a hell of a lot more proven than AJ's which says a lot doesn't it. Haye never got sparked Ruiz style in his prime for a start. He lost an early one to Thompson from being green and KO hungry, which I watched, then declined with age for his last two.

Whatever, I can't be arsed posting a rebuttal. I can however confidently state that Haye's legacy will safely override AJ's in the long term.

You have some good points. Haye could be put to sleep by AJ if caught and would definitely fight cautiously. But if you watch the Wlad fight, Haye did try to launch in with hayemakers but Wlad was a master at controlling range and taking a step back then tying up. He was the king of it. AJ has never showed that, he gets flustered and moves back with his hands up when someone attacks him. I think Haye would beat AJ with exactly the same tactics he used vs Wlad. He would run and launch the odd attack and AJ just wouldn't be able to get out of the way.

He succumbed to Wlads dirty tactics (outside the fight) that night and went in for all the wrong reasons, naievly thinking his right hand landing would be enough. Even Fury who despises Haye said he’d beat or could have beat Wlad.

That’s why Haye was practically begging for the rematch cause he knew he ****ed up that night.
My opinion anyway, don’t think either of us or right or wrong and I understand your point to a degree.

Would have been a great fight. Think you,ve to make joshua favourite with the size, length advantage. But haye had a better boxing brain than joshua imo....who kind of looks like hes been almost overcoached to the point he cant really do it for himself. Haye was decent at setting traps, working a man over, thinking as a fight progressed etc. Reckon he,d have a great style to take joshua out. Again tho...the size joshua has is a massive advantage. Ruiz the smaller man beat him...but ruiz is pretty heavy i think....although hes fat he looks naturally strong with it underratedly so. Haye,s strength up at heavyweight seemed a lot more manufactured. Could he deal with joshuas size, length advsntage....not 100 percent sure. I,d have made joshua favourite but stick money on haye at the bookies.

Yeah he had to because he's got no head movement or foot speed. An iron chin is kind of a necessity for Ruiz to be at all succesful as a fighter
