Bowe was never one shotted out for the count during his prime. If Bowe had been hitting Lewis the way Mercer was, it would have been lights out. Holyfield >>> night&day>>> Ray Mercer
You failed, because that's not an answer to the question. Here was the question: I don't recall a day in his career that Bowe had a better defense than Lewis. Could you reference some fights? Try again.
I don't recall a day in his career that Lewis had a better defense than Bowe. Could you reference some fights? Ta.
And as usual you are talking ****... Why don't you watch some of their fights first? Bowe knew what was coming and dropped the belt! Enough said!
There we go :yep Bowe had a worthless defence whereas Lewis brought the big cannons to the ring. Lewis was technically better as well and frankly I would put money on Lewis landing his artillery first. If Bowe had fought Lewis he wouldn't have gotten to Golota. :hey That's why he ran like el pollo :deal
Bowe by mid to late rounds stoppage Both guys would be able to reach the other with powerpunches, Bowe being he more durable of the two, would prevail.
The only thing that interests me in that video clip is the same morons who scream like little girls about the height of Lewis's protector, are conspicuously quiet about the height of Bowe's. Probably just Murican's, and therefore not to be taken seriously.
I still don't know what this has to do with a fighter. If the ref allows it then it's on him, not the fighter. Hell, a fighter, should pull his shorts to his face, if he can get away with it.
Bowe was not mentally strong enough to beat Lewis. He has all the tools physically and skill wise to win but his psychological weaknesses would have been his undoing.
When did Bowe prove he was mentally weak?:huh His will to win was up there with Marciano's and Ali. You don't know what you're talking about.
Sadly I have to agree with Dino here. If there's one thing I'd have to give Bowe credit for it's a huge heart and a will to win. Golota beat him to a paste and he still came back for more.
But that's just it, isn't it? A guy like Golata should not be beating a top fighter like that. Every other top fighter Golata faced, he had problems with. Not exactly a strong list of A+ results. He did better against Bowe's defense than other guys he fought. So hanging tough does not absolve or erase the faults of Bowe. To me, they magnify them. And just how long did it take Lennox to solve that Golata defense anyway? How long to come right over the top of that low left hand with zero head movement of Andrew's? That same opening was there for Rid****--it's not like he had to break the guy's defense down.
Golota was , prime , undefeated and full of confidence going into a fight with a past prime and unmotivated Bowe. Bowe took all that away from him. Golota's mental state was shattered from there on in. This caused him to have a nervous breakdown in the dressing room against Lewis. They had to pump him full of opiates. Lewis knew it. That why he went out gunz blazing. Look at his eyes after Lewis floors him. Those are the eyes of a man completely out of it. Poppin out of his head. That win his tainted. What do you mean a guy like Golota? Golota had skills and a superb defense against Bowe. MaCall had far more trouble with an ancient Larry Holmes than he did with Lewis. What hope would Lewis of had if he faced Bowe back then...
