The Polish midget was undefeated and trained by the Duvas.

Bowe was already going off the rails with over eating and very lazy training habits, Futch was still training him but was about done with Bowe's attitude . Bowe put a kitchen (!) in his bed room after he won the title from Holyfield, enough said about being disciplined.

Golata is best remembered for fouling out aka going low and low and low and some lower to keep Bowe off him. Fact.

Golata without going low either quits or get stopped by that unmotivated Bowe. Right before the fight Bowe voiced his discontent on HBO why he has to fight "bums" like Golata (his words) and not for the Heavyweight crown.

Nevertheless, Bowe beat Golata twice and the foul midget could not even put the shell of a shell Bowe away in the second fight.

I think you misplaced their names. Cause I can't imagine anyone watching them both fight numerous times, and concluding that Bowes boxing ability was superior to Lennox, in their prime, or at any stage of their careers. I believe Bowe had the raw ability to become one of if not the greatest heavyweight of all time, but never had the ambition..he showed his heart once or twice against Holyfield, and maybe Andrew Golotta, but other than that he always came into fights fat and unmotivated. Lennox was a much more ambitious fighter, IMO, and his prime lasted much longer than Bowe...their chins seem about equal, as does their power. Boxing ability, timing, "ring generalship", I think you'd have to give those to Lewis...

So basically your position is that yes Bowe would win and then spend the next 10 posts explaining why he such a short prime, and that's basically your argument..pretty pathetic even for you, don't you think. A foul midget should have easily been disposed of, Lewis provided that emphatically.

Terrible style match-up for Bowe. I would favor Lewis to win something like 7 out of 10.

Can anyone think the sentiments would be exactly the same if it was Lewis that got battered around the ring twice by golata but won both via dq? And then in his next fight it was Golata that was destroyed in 1 by Bowe?

Does anyone really think that stuff would not be held against Lewis and would be as big of a non-issue?

Great post. The double standard is hard to ignore.

I've always been a Bowe fan, but the guy has become comically overrated on boxing message boards. He oozed physical talent, but he rarely trained hard and had serious defensive liabilities. I think Lewis would land his jab so often that it would start to tenderize Bowe's face.

Bowe's power would always give him a chance for a flash KO, but, more often than not, he gets badly out-boxed.

So basically you are saying that Golota was average and it's only because Bowe actually was worse that Golota looked so good? :think I can go with that

Ya, if that happened, we'd still be talking about it today.

Lewis was up at 6 in the McCall fight. It was the REFEREE who claimed he was unfit to continue.

So a guy who gets dropped on his ass by his sister, quits after taking a few to the bollox is gonna batter Lennox Lewis? Ffs this fool even needed weapons when he kidnapped his wife, what makes anyone think he have the cajones to get in with someone like Lewis?

It could have happened by accident. Like, somebody told him there was a free buffet in the ring, and after Bowe fights his way past Dustin Nichols, he finds Lewis there getting them wrapped. :D I mean, it's possible :think
