prime Margarito vs prime Hearns

I completely understand where you are coming from. The reason I believe Hearns could is because Margo is so open to flush shots and no one at 147 and 154 is gonna last long with a prime Hearns teeing off. Hearns does have the skills to box to a descision but I the pressure of Margarito wont let him set up for his huge rights. I see what you saying though.

Compared to Cotto, Hearns has punches on a whole different level..

 

Hearns wouldn't be laying on the ropes like Cotto, he would be constantly moving and creating angles for his insane offensive weapons. Marg's extremely open defence would allow Tommy to land flush combinations, much like Cotto did in the early rounds. The thing is, Hearns is much faster, hits ALOT harder and is more accurate than Cotto. Add to this his highly underrated body attack and Marg is in for a long night. No matter how good his chin may be, someone with awful defence isn't going to be able to take hundreds of flush Hearns right hands. Tommy Hearns late round TKO after a dominant display.

Hearns neutralises Margos height and reach advantages. Hearns wins UD or KO.

 

People are being ridiculous in choosing Hearns by an actual KO. Margarito may get stopped, but wouldn't be knocked out.

Margarito has taken bombs off Cintron, who has as similar power Hearns. He isn't anywhere near close in skill or punching technique, but the raw punching power is very similar. Apart as that, Hearns fought people with inferior chins to Margarito who he didn't stop. Who has Hearns KOed, who had a better or similar chin to Margarito at 147lbs?

There is no reason to say that Hearns would lay Margarito out.

 

How exactly can you say that Cintron who has KO'd nobody worth mentioning to a fighter who has p4p ATG power?

 

Who Cintron has KOed is irrelevant. How he has KOed them shows his incredible power.

Margo does have a great chin but when you’re as open as he is and you’re fighting a guy with Hearns accuracy, hand speed, reach, jab and power I think Margo would get stopped.

 

hearns would lose by a tko in the 12th round. This is going to sound like hyberbole but margarito would not lose to anyboby at 147 if the rules still allowed for a 15 round fight. I've watched boxing for over 35 years so i'm not including anyone before 1973 in my previous sentence. Even leonard would melt away by the fourteenth.
