No you couldn't. Qawi wouldn't beat Schmeling, Baer, Walcott, Charles or Sharkey.

Why wouldn't he ? At cruiserweight he weighed 180-190. Thats within the boundaries of heavyweight in the 20-40s. He was tiny but he slipped shots better than anyone in those eras. Look at his actual highlights. He was excellent on the front foot. Heavyweights have gotten bigger and more skilled. Your average cruiserweight today would easily make heavyweight then and they have access to better technology and better nutrition. Someone like Oleksandr Usyk would be a large heavyweight in that era even though he's small compared to the average heavyweight today.

Comparing the "defense" of Galento to Ruddock is like comparing the footwork of Mariusz Wach to Samuel Peter. Neither exists.

Walcott, Charles, Conn, and Schmeling definitely weren't punching bags and in terms of skill and technique they are better than any current heavyweight except perhaps Fury and Ortiz.

They would all get ran through by any top 10 heavyweight today

There is no way that Ezzard Charles and Jersey Joe Walcott would get 'ran through' by Michael Hunter.

Qawi from Spinks/Holyfield I could absolutely beat Walcott or Sharkey.

Do you really think so? An old Walcott has almost beaten Rocky Marciano.

Yes, of course. An old Qawi nearly beat a prime Holyfield. Qawi was much better at repeatedly getting inside than Marciano, with a much better jab.

Joe Joyce, Usyk, and Hunter "run through" Walcott Charles and Schmeling?

There’s no way Ezzard Charles would be fighting at heavyweight today

I’d go with Joe Louis. His hand speed and precision skill would be the key.

I don`t think so. Holyfield was still unexperienced and Marciano was more powerful than Quawi. Walcott has beaten also Alltime Greats like Ezzard Charles, Elmer Ray and actually too Joe Louis in the first fight.

Holyfield had nearly 200 fights experience going into the Qawi fight. There's no way he was inexperienced. Marciano may have been more powerful than Walcott, but Qawi was much, much quicker and much better technically. He could get inside the jab, close the distance, work the body better and really offset Walcott's distance.

I'm not saying that Qawi definitely wins, but it's plain dumb to write him off completely.

Irrelevant. He still wouldn't be run through by Hunter. And neither would Walcott.

Though he was still inexperienced as professional boxer. I favour Walcott. He was a very smart, dangerous puncher with a great footwork.
