I dont know what your trying to prove here. Lewis is one of the smartest fighters in recent time. He didnt have to fight for money anymore, so when the mental desire is no longer there to fight, thats when you hang it up, because no matter how much in need of money you are, or how much your offered to fight, if you are not mentally prepared to fight, you cant, and I think Lewis recognized this before he went back into training and said forget it. If you are trying to say that Lewis retired before rematching Vitali because he didnt want to lose and tarnish his legacy I would agree, but it wasnt because he felt Vitali was better than him, he just felt he could no longer summon the desire to fight on.
It's ******ed to propose a fighter was durable and strong who was broken down after not so many difficult bouts by the time he was 29. Did Seldon, Tillary, Gonzalez and Crackhead Dokes wear out this pillar of durability? Please.
A combined 32 rounds of brutal war with Holyfield & his grotesque ballooning up in weight don't count then?
He for sure is clueless. Bowe was past his best against Golota, overweight (drained in 2nd fight), slower, less aggresive. Offensive wise he was a shadow of himself. But you can't say that he lacked heart and durability. Against Andrew he took unbelivable punishment and still continued to fight. Golota wasn't big puncher but athletic 6'4'' and 240 guy don't tickle you. So his durability was there but his overall powers declined greatly.
And you don't along with others such as suzieq, lefthook31, kalasin etc.? Don't kid yourself it's even more visible than that of Mendoza, seamus...
Bowe was lighter in the rematch, not in better shape. He never lost the weight in a proper, gradual way, but starved himself the last few weeks of camp. This is why his skin looked loose and his stamina was once again shot.
I don't have a problem debating with someone who brings facts and a little credibility to the table, not pure biased ignorance.
This comes up often but I honestly don't think Bowe is going to be the one that would take Vitali out of his comfort zone. He really struggled to impose his fight when someone chose to box him, and I believe he would end up following Vitali around eating punches and getting tied up on the inside; maybe making things more intersting than most but ultimately losing a deicision as Vitali skips out of danger and runs around the ring, peppering him with ugly arm punches. Really, I think Ruiz and Holyfield would be harder fights for Vitali. Guys that can impose their fight and make it ugly for anybody. For all the talk of pressure, Lewis squeezed past Vitali by spoiling him with constant clinches and crisp right hand counters. Bowe would just stalk, maybe have some success with his jab when he uses it. But this is the type of fight Vitali feasts on, fighters with suspect defense chasing him with jabs and recklessly bombing hayemakers. Also, Bowe would probably show up overweight as Vitali seems to have that effect on his opponents.
