How does he do against these guys?

I have him beating everyone besides Bernard Hopkins. I think 2001-2005 B-Hop even at the later stage would have the wrong style for Canelo.

Trinidad would be very dangerous, but I think if Canelo can survive GGG he beats Tito. Winky with his shell would be difficult, but Canelo would find a way through. Taylor might be leading, but stopped at the end. Pavlik would be outboxed.

Only one he loses to here is Hopkins.

Wright would be a hell of an opponent. But judges usually favor Canelo, and Wright was on the wrong end of judges' decisions more than once.

So Canelo wins by controversial decision.

I certainly favor B-Hop over Canelo though.

Just from my initial impression of these match ups:

    Hopkins beats Canelo.
    Canelo beats Trinidad.
    Canelo beats Taylor.
    Wright beats Canelo.
    Canelo beats Pavlik.

    3 - 2 Canelo for me.

I think he whoops them all except for Hopkins who is a 'maybe'.

Hopkins was a master at controlling the pace and of spoiling guys with firepower. Plus Hopkins is significantly bigger framed than Canelo so it would help him on an outside war. However Canelo also brings his own attributes to the table, such as explosiveness, combination punching and heavy hands. Hops would not enjoy Canelo's body punches and Canelo might prefer a lower pace. I haven't analysed the matchup but I can see routes to win for both these guys.

Hopkins schools him. Wright loses a controversial decision. Canelo decisively beats the rest
