Battle between two good fighters with suspect chins. Who takes it?

It's a shame this fight never came off!

50/50 ish fight. But I'd go for Morrison here... I'd say around the 6th round.

Moorer was a far better boxer, far better two handed attack and better chin. A blow out in favor of Moorer.

I'd strongly favor Moorer. Morrison does have the power where I think he'd have a good chance of maybe knocking Moorer down and its possible he could put him out but I don't see it happening. I see Moorer keeping a tight guard and coming through the middle with his good crisp punching eventually getting to Morrison and finishing him off in the mid to late rounds.

If south paw Joe Hipp could almost defeat Morrison, I'm thinking south paw Michael Moorer is going to stop Morrison. Both are vulnerable, but Moorer along with his power is the better boxer with better proven stamina.

Morrison was faster and hit harder. Moorer goes down, and Tommy finshes him.

A great fight, but Moorer starts to cautious. Morrison is the aggressor and to good to not land that Left hook at least once.

Mercer would beat Moorer as well.

I agree. Both men were big punchers with limited ability to take punishment but Moorer was the more skilled of the two.

His wins over Joe Hipp and aged versions of Ruddock and the Truth were likely his best stoppages. Then again Moorer's scalps over Cooper and Stewart aren't much to boast either, albeit one of them being a terrific fight. Still I'd pick Moorer to beat the duke, but I wouldn't base my decision over who either of them stopped. List is pretty thin on both sides.

Ruddock was his best win and Razor was far from old .. Tommy simply beat him .. Tommy also showed intelligence ad control against Foreman opposed to when he fought like a moron against Bent and got cloaked .. Moorer fought no punchers other then Tua who iced in lightning fast and Cooper in a terrific war .. his management knew his chin and confidence were weak at heavyweight .. this is a real pick em figt to me .. I might like Morrison .. he was dominating Mercer and hit Ray with monster shots in his first loss .. anyone but a Mercer caliber chin would have folded .. he then lost to a terrific Lennox Lewis in one of Lewis's best fights ever .. Tommy more proven at heavyweight, the bigger guy , the bigger hitter .. still, I would not bet it ..

and Moorer didn't...Morrison beat the old man...Moorer got crushed by him....I use this relative comparison to state that Morrison was the smarter fighter...and his left hook would find the chinny Moorer's chin. Fight OVAH...

So Razor not doing s hit in years is irrelevant? Ron Lipton is why Tommy won anyway.

Moorer didn't have enough pop to trouble The Duke. A really good boxer with a lot of skill but his power didn't carry up from 175.

He pounded on Journeyman Melvin Forster all night long and barely hurt him. Foster would go on to be stopped in almost every fight after wards.

Tommy also had a better chin. Moorer wouldn't handle the brutal power of Tommy and he had lead boots. Tommy would get him.
