talking to the thread really quickly, i think vitali has a good enough chin to take tyson into some waters.

for me it comes down to who is in his corner: if it's rooney or cus, it's over for vitali

vitali had the style to frustrate tyson because he wouldn't let mike get near his chin, he could take a decent punch and he was physically strong enough to deal with tyson inside. that said, if mike let that **** bother him and turned pure slugger and got sloppy vitali could get some work done.

with cus or kevin in his corner, tyson would have a calming voice, laying out a plan on how to work over vitali methodically and build towards the knockout instead of forcing it.

tyson has all the physical tools to take out vit: what he needs is the mind and discipline to do it and that comes from an experienced corner

    The pantheon of Vitali haters:

    1. Lewis busted up Vitali's face (true)
    2. Byrd TKOs Vitali (misleading)
    3. Sanders KD Vitali (false)
    4. Vitali holding on for dear life against Lewis (false)
    4. the tale of the lost tape of Pele Reid (myth)

    The pantheon of Tyson haters:

    1. Knocked out by a bum (true)
    2. Knocked out by a bum (true)
    3. Knocked out by a decent boxer (true)
    4. Lost every fight against ATGs (knocked out twice) except for an ancient Holmes (true)

haha, whoa speaking of misleading. you can't use facts you like discount ones you don't

if you're going for "official" facts on vitali, yes he was tko'd by byrd. it's not misleading, it's record. if you go off "unofficial" facts, then he was injured against byrd and the tko is misleading but he WAS knocked down or at least ****ing up against sanders and DID hold on against lewis.

as for tyson, that was not a bum in the ring the night he fought douglas.
and he beat an atg in spinks (don't care about the size, fear, etc.) he was an atg.

I could actually see Vitali winning this if it goes past 5 rounds... that's a big if though

Sanders did knock VITLAY down, and VITLAY did hold on for dear life against Lewis after that uppercut landed.

You suggest that those statements are misleading yet claim that Buster Douglas was a bum :D:D:D If VITLAY had beaten Buster Douglas you Klit-ites would be bigging him up like no tomorrow, he was an extremely good boxer. I'd like to know who the other bum that KO'd Tyson is you refer to? If it's Danny Williams then my argument strengthens.

They usually say something like "Vitali sucks he was stopped by Byrd". That's not misleading?

Go watch the Lewis-Vitali fight and tell me when is this holding for dear life? Round and time...

Sanders stung him but he didn't knock him down. It was a push. Clear as daylight.

Douglas was the decent fighter in the list. This guy was knocked out cold with one punch by Holyfield.

It's not misleading to say that Byrd stopped VITLAY - it's right there on Boxrec, Byrd TKO.

As for the Lewis fight, VITLAY took a monster uppercut in the 6th round and held on for dear life until practically the end of the round, I'm sure you'll find it if you look for it. Holding on for dear life was VITLAYS last piece of action that night, and I'm sure his demeanor at the end of that 6th round (which Lewis won on all the scorecards) had a bearing in the doctors decision to end his agony and stop the fight.

Sanders knocked VITLAY down, watch the tape again and ignore the bull**** about a push or tangled feet, VITLAY was buzzed from a big shot and on ***** st.

So Douglas was the decent boxer on the list....who were the 2 bums that KO'd Tyson then, if Douglas wasn't one of them? The only other stoppages Tyson had were Holyfield, Lewis, Williams and McBride where he was aged and disinterested.

sorry locke but:deal i NEVER would say he was beaten up by byrd but tko is tko. there is no special name for it when people are injured-"TKO by shoulder". and watch the lewis and sanders fights again. he was CLEARLY hurt. the push is debatable but you have to admit he got stung pretty ****ing good

Sanders stung him for sure but he didn't knock him down. Lewis never hurt him. Go watch that 6th round: Lewis is a walking punching bag for the first minute of the round. Then he lands that monster uppercut around the 2 minute mark and there was a 3 second clinch. Then the ref breaks the clinch and separates them. That's the imaginary "hanging for dear life" of the Vitali haters. Get this, after the clinch Lewis just stands there he doesn't try to finish Vitali. It's Vitali that throws several punches at Lewis. Then they clinch again. It's give and take from this point to about 0:30. Dead even. Then Vitali lands a righ and misses a left hook, lands a grazing right pushing Lewis to the other side of the ring and Lewis stumbles. Lewis lands a body shot. Vitali pushes him back Lewis pulls and they are back to the right side of the ring. Commentator: "It's all that Lennox Lewis can do to stand up...". Lewis lands a nice uppercut in the last second.

And yet Vitali haters "think" that Lewis beat up Vitali, then landed a monster uppercut and then Vitali "holds on for dear life" for 2 minutes while Lewis beats him up. It's just blind hate and a vivid imagination.

To quote Foreman after the uppercut: "He can no longer see, he's fighting on pure heart Klitschko is now."

fair enough. it sounds like you believe that vitali was hurt in both instances but the degree of which has been exagherrated. i can agree with that
