Prime: Vitali Klitschko . Vs. George Foreman

The classic forum is way better than the other forums, there are some very knowledgeable people here who have very strong opinions which makes it a lot of fun and always a good read, I just skip the idiots who sometime post here. They never seem to last very long anyway

 

This thread has for the most part, been hilarious

Once again the rabid Klit-ites show themselves for what they are, and to think they also have the nerve to question the classic forum when no-one agrees with them....unreal.

Same thing with the Ali thread, everyone agrees Ali was the greater fighter yet the Klit-ites come out of the woodwork trying to **** on the guy while making bull**** excuses for every loss their guy has.

A serious point - the mods should just freeze threads like this from now on. Leave the Klitschko talk to the general forum.

Absolute ****ing nonsense. First of all Lewis was not 6 foot 6, he was about 6 foot 5, and barely that. Foreman was listed as 6 foot 4 wnen he was champion - and he WAS a champion.

VITLAYS KO percentage is barely better than Foremans despite Foreman fighting into his mid 40's and looking awful in the process, Foreman in his prime only lost to the greatest HW that ever lived whilst VITLAY lost to a former MW and a guy that had been 'training' for an easy nights work at age 37.

VITLAY might be bigger than Foreman yes, but is he faster and stronger? I say no. Foreman by age 24 was the undisputed king of the heavies, VITLAY is nearly 40 years old now and STILL hasn't been crowned as the undisputed HW champ, his brother holds all the cards there, despite being a glass chinned bum.

Comparisons here aren't necessary. Prime Foreman was a far, far better fighter than any version of VITLAY you care to mention, this fight would be a massacre.

 

Foreman has a proven chin - only stopped once, and that was more by exhaustion in extreme heat than a power KO. He has proven extreme power, having not just beaten, but absolutely destroyed a great fighter in Frazier, along with his many other early KO victims.

Someone compared his power to Lewis. Their best shot may be similar in power (Lewis straight right might even be a bit harder), but Lewis didn't really use his power aggressively or often, whereas Foreman went in for the early kill and threw far more power shots. That is why 1st-career Foreman had such an insane KO percentage. Up to the Ali fight he had a 95% KO record, many in the first couple of rounds. In his second career he *still* had loads of KOs until he got to top notch opposition who were much younger. George Foreman had huge power.

Vitali by contrast has stopped people more by accumulation of punches than outright KO power. And his competition has been weaker - he has never destroyed any great fighters or top contenders in the way Foreman (or other KO arists like Tyson or Louis) did.

Foreman had the most trouble with elusive opponents who refused to trade with him or come to him e.g. the tricky Jimmy Young, Ali tying him up on the ropes, even Morrison following an evasive gameplan etc. Vitali's size, which normally is one of his main strengths, would be a disadvantage here, and he is hardly the most slickest fighter anyway. He would be a big sitting duck for Foreman to bomb away at. Another aspect is that Vitali loves a scrap, he would try to trade with Foreman and that would be a bad mistake as he doesn't have comparable power and arguably a weaker chin. The other factor is that Foreman has a good jab, better than Vitali, so fighting on the outside isn't exactly going to be an easy ride either, Klitschko just doesn't have the footwork to dance away all night.

Basically it would be a bit like a cross between Foreman Lyle and the Lennox fight IMO. Two big guys teeing off on each other. I think Vitali would be stopped either on cuts or a plain knockout (most likely after a couple of knockdowns first) after taking a lot of heavy blows. His style is just all wrong for fighting a huge-punching aggressive fighter like Foreman.

 

Foreman's far closer to 6'2 than 6'4. Lewis is signficantly larger than foreman

Foreman in his prime looked like a crude slugger with awful footwork and not even enough stamina to go 8 rounds. He was several hurt and knocked down by JIMMY YOUNG. He was nearly KTFO'd by Ron Lyle.

I would continue to make points, but any douchebag who feels the need to capitalize and spell Vitali's name wrong is obviously biased to the point where it's not worth my effort.

I don't even particuarly care for the klitshcko brothers, and i LOATHE lennox lewis, but people who do stupid **** like type VITLAY and KLIT every ****ing time they use the man's name aren't worth the effort.

We're obviously dealing with another Klit-ite here, and the worst kind too, the one that says he's not a big fan of the brothers "but damn they're tall" :rofl:rofl:rofl

Can't be bothered to get into this further, anyone that knows anything about HW boxing knows that Foreman would **** VITLAYS **** up, considering the other 2 ****-weak fighters that did it.
