Well thats actually a good possiblity. Lewis being the smart fighter he was recognized Wlads shortcomings and advised Sanders before he faced Wlad. Its possible that Lewis could have stopped Wlad in a similar manner, but I seriously doubt the (better at holding) version of Wlad of today gets blasted out in one or two.
I should think if an old Sanders (who was never that good anyway) can do it then a top 5 ATG in Lewis would most likely just blast him out 9 times out of 10.
Don't think so personally, he's just got more cautious and yes the jab and grab has become routine to him since he switched to Steward.....could the same be said for Lewis, I don't think so personally. Lewis adjusted his tactics for everyone he fought, yes he was over-cautious on occasion but when faced with a guy he knew he could blast out, he blasted them out. WALDO is a different kettle of fish. WALDOS safety first style would be the sprat to Lewis's shark.....to pretend otherwise is ridiculous in my opinion, no way would this fight end in a WALDO win.
Just that the 'nice guy' thing was all an act, he was a wife-beater and a drug addict. The British press lapped it all up for years about 'big daft Frank' when in reality he was a bit of a **** - they were all over Bruno before the Lewis fight, it was almost like Bruno was fighting a foreigner. By the end of their careers Lewis came out squeaky clean and it was Bruno that looked the **** - as I'd suspected he was all along. That's not to take away from his fighting skills though, I think he'd give WALDO hell, in a jabbing contest from the outside and also if it turned into a brawl - which we all know WALDO can't handle but Bruno can.
I rewatched Wlad Sanders a while ago, and i must say, i was surprised at how much Wlad tried but failed to hold sanders. And his jab had literally no hope of keeping him at bay. Has Wlad really improved his holding that much. I know he has been more successful, but i get the feeling that Sanders Wlad may not have been a one off. This fight (while it could have just been an off night) really is a very poor fight for Wlad and it has to be a worry, any time Wlad fights a first class puncher, who can take a good punch.
I don't agree with that, Sanders almost did the same to the other brother he would try and blast someone out in the first couple of rounds that is the way he fights. Neither brother would defeat Lewis though.
Wlad showed vast improvements in his survival skills in the Peter fight. I believe Peter is far stronger than Sanders too. I dont think Sanders could have done the same thing to Wlad had they fought after Steward had him for a while, just as Lamon Brewster couldnt.
Peter isnt half the boxer Sanders is and isnt half as quick, neither does he hit as hard Wlad's fought no one like Sanders before or since
Nothing suggests that. Hes just as quick and hits just as hard if not harder. I would say hes physically stronger too. Wlad fought probably the last decently prepared version of Peter as well.
I really think that it depends on how the fight plays out and what type of a fight each man CHOOSES to execute... A pre-Steward Wlad would probably go for broke and get knocked out early in similar fashion to the way that Lewis dispatched Golata and Grant... An improved Wlad would likely play it safe and use his jab, while keeping a safer distance, perhaps taking things to the score cards, but in either case, I'm going with Lewis.
Peter is "just as quick ,and hits just as hard, if not harder". Sanders had better hand speed than Peter ,and better one shot power,Peter is a one paced , flat footed clubber, and most of his shots end up as rabbit punches,an overated ,poor man's Bruno ,without the jab. Jumbo Cummings reborn.
