Peter isn't nearly as quick as Sanders, its laughable to say otherwise, and he wings his shots really wide, which means you have to be ******ed to get hit by them. He doesn't hit hard, Peter's power is a complete myth, he's big strong but wings his shots and when he doesnt arm punches.
Wlad was not prepared for this fight. He was not focused, and sported a playboy hair cut when he entered the ring. 12 USA fighters declined to meet him. His team failed to prepare him for Sanders. His team failed to understand this was a high risk, low reward type of fight. In short team Universum did not manager their fighter correctly. A good trainer build a game plan. Wlad should have been wary of Sanders left, adjusted his guard, and moved around more often. Wlad also did not know how to clinch with technique in this fight. Steward taught him how to clinch quickly, and with techniqe, then apply his natural height, weight, and strength advantage. Wlad is a master clincher now. He can catch a guy on the way in, and press down on his head. He can jab and grab. He can lock up tight toe to toe, and push off well. I dare say in-experience cost Wlad in this fight, and if he had Steward prepping him, the result would have different. Wlad's help in the corner after round one was horrible. They gave him no water to help wake him up, and no real game plan.
He does loop his punches, especially his righthand, but to say he doesnt hit hard is whats laughable. Hes put guys on strethchers. I know its only Williams, but I dont think he was ever knocked out like this. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1fgX1jAaqs[/ame]
No he just wasnt prepared for the type of fight Sanders brought. Thats was always his problem until Steward taught him how to handle a pressure fight.
You said he was as fast as Sanders and hit as hard, if not harder .I say neither are true, 19 of his 27 stoppages were tkos, he has few countouts and none against anyone special.
