:rofl :rofl Its a robbery in everyones mind. Anyone that have seen the fight knows it was a robbery. Even latino's who are always biased towards other latino fighters know that Pernell whipped Chavez's as that night.
Mayweather is not the defensive master Whitaker is. Chavez will get his. Mayweather doesn't have the punch to hurt Chavez. In the early rounds Judah was pretty effective by going inside and exchanging with Mayweather. & Mayweather didn't like it one bit. Hatton tried the same stratedgy, but Cortez kept jumping in everytime they got inside.
Oh beleive Chavez will get in that ass, this Danny_Rand kid just doesnt have a clue but would rather bring up the Whitaker fight as if Whitaker fights anything close to Floyds style :nono **** it amazes me how many people here really beleive they know this sport, I mean so much so that they cast out that same statement you dont know boxing, just when someone disagrees weather logic was used or not is not a consideration for these guys they love Floyd so much they will lie through their teeth for him.
In fact Chavez was upset because Whitaker didn't want to stand & trade with him. But that was his fault, he should have known Whitaker's style & prepared accordingly.
True, but like I said the judges score the fight that they see not the fights we think we are seeing. and being there ringside you can better gauge how fast and hard the shots are and you can see the results alot better when a shot is landed than you can when your watching a replay on the tape or espn classic. Take Notes Danny!!!:smooch
Yeah, And it's not just Chavez. The Ramirez I fight & De La Hoya fights are prime examples of how difficult it is to score a Whitaker fight. Chavez kept coming foreward against Whitaker and some judges reward that.
You're supposed to reward "effective aggression" not just aggression. Any judge who knows the criteria which makes up their job should be able to distinguish. Unfortunately far too many are clueless, biased, or just plain corrupt.
Alot of judges back in the 90's favored the aggressor which is why you had so many fighters that actually fought like warriors back then, today you cant say the same.
This is also very true, but you know a judge could also look at it this way, that Whitaker was too scared to get in there and fight the way Chavez wanted to, in other words it could make Chavez look like he kept whitaker on the retreat.
Exactly! Although Chavez & Ramirez moved foreward, they weren't landing & were countered beautifully. Ramirez never changes expressions, but you can see Chavez getting upset because he was missing and being hit in return.
True , but I think that had allot to do with Oscar getting stun a little by a punch he didn't see coming which floyd is real good at.
but he only was able to get that one stunner off once in that fight, so if he is really that good does this mean Oscar in his advanced age is still that good? or did Floyd just have another off night :think
Don't hate the man for being good , he caught Oscar more then a few times during the fight and Hoy has never been dropped chin wise. it was little chance that Floyd was going to Ko oscar but he did peper him good.
