That's my feeling, as well. Wlad has never faced a fighter on the level of Bowe, plain and simple. Bowe happens to be grossly underrated on ESB whereas Wlad is incredibly overrated.
And Bowe has never faced a fighter n the level of Wlad, plain and simple. It is impossible to gauge someones prime based off of fighting one opponent...then conveninently state his prime was only 3 years...then neglect the fact that he needed Holyfield's documented illness to win the series. Bowe was a very good heavyweight who owned little guys and had some great fights against Holyfield. Nothing more, nothing less.
Bull****! He faced Lewis (am), Golota, and Holyfield three times. Some of the arguments being put forth here are absolute bull****. 1. People are groslly underrating exactly how good Golota was in 1996. I suspect many people making these types of ridiculous comparisons have merely seen highlights of the two Bowe-Golota fights. 2. Wlad fights NOTHING like prime Golota did, who was much more aggressive, had a much better chin, and was MUCH more willing to go to war than Wlad has EVER exhibited in the ring. 3. Even though Bowe wasn't "shot" when he fought Golota, he was already far removed from his prime. If you ask me, Bowe represents a stylistic nightmare for Sugar Wladdy, plain and simple. More horse****. In my opinion, Bowe should have been 3-0 against Holyfield (I had him winning the rematch) and furthermore, I would favor a 1992 Holyfield over ANY version of Wlad in any case. The views of a simpleton trying to vindicate his own views, nothing more. :smoke
Both have good jabs, both are big and strong, Bowe has the better infight skills and a better chin. Both not very confident when under pressure. I'll say if Bowe shows up in shape and gets his jab working (which isn't always the case) he wins a close one. Wlad will be competitive and has a chance if he catches Bowe with something big...
