You guys really think GBP care about sum chump change Sky give to air US HBO PPV fights over here on normal non PPV Sky Sports.

If Sky don't bend over to Khan, they can easily let someone else have it for little next to nothing, that means all GBP fights like Floyd vs Ortiz aswell.

Remember the HBO PPV sales are their main income from a TV Network.

It would be good if this doesn't become a dick measuring contest and both sides admit that things went wrong and they can work together again. It will be best for everyone (especially the fans).

I agree with all the way in the end it's us fans who lose out.

This whole thing started with the McCloskey fight and Sky were right to downgrade to normal Sky Sports which is understandable due to the card falling apart. Khan team made the wrong move going to Primetime but end the end it's all business, but I get the feeling now Sky Sports director is talking it personal. Before even Bradley fight was made Sky director already rejected the fight Judah also feels like their don't want to do business with Khan.

Maybe they don't like doing business with a young 24yrs old Asian guy calling the shots direct with no promoter taking a cut I don't know.

All Khan has to do is keep winning, Sky will in end crawl back to him money talks.

Khan should just keep winning and maybe soon HBO will make him a PPV star over in the US in the future, that's good money.

Hahahaha. That has to be post of the month. Do you have any understanding of boxing at all, or do you just come on here to amuse yourself with this drivel?

Firstly.. Schaefer/GBP are a USA based promoter, a timezone 5-8 hours ahead of us. Sky Sports interest in boxing is primarily UK prime time events, which means the biggest Promoter to them is FW Promotions, followed by the others. These make the most money for SKY. The majority of interactions with GBP are paying for one off bouts that people may be interested in featuring foreign fighters.

Secondly, GBP do not dictate to television networks. It is the opposite way around in this sport. The networks dictate to the promoters, because ultimately they are both the one paying for the event and who have to provide entertainment to their viewers. Which is why often you'll hear of HBO,SKY etc rejecting opponents for fighters, the promoters have no choice but to deal with it.

All that aside, If this was football and GBP ran the EPL, it might be a bit different, however it's boxing, a minority sport. Most people don't care.

Ok... your conspiracy theory regarding a secret deal by GBP to not work with SKY. It is nonsense.

Are you aware that SKY have worked with GBP in the last few weeks?

I can see why you might think that. But no. It's business. I won't use Khan as the example, as TK handles all Khan's UK business interest including broadcasting, so why would GBP particularly give a ****.

But let's say a fight between Froch and Ward in the USA.. A USA based network might, to be generous pay £2 million for the event, which is unlikely to PPV. In the UK, where it is more likely to be on PPV, it could generate revenue of £1million even with a low buy rate... if it wasn't on PPV it could still make a few hundred K.

Of course all involved are going to care about a 50% increase in profit. They would care about a 5% increase.

    No it isn't.

I'm sure Golden Boy would be happy to show their events on a cheap PPV here instead of getting very little money from Sky.

If that's the case, why isn't Saul Alvarez vs Ryan Rhodes on Primetime? Sky can't even be bothered to show that one live.

You're living in cloud cuckoo land if you believe Golden Boy is going to move heavy against Sky. The last thing they want is Sky telling British fighters to avoid doing business with GB lest they want to be blacklisted by the only boxing broadcaster in the UK worth a damn.

And I'm sure Sky won't give a **** cos boxing is hardly the most popular sport in the UK. Is it really Sky's priority to show fights at 4 in the morning? They'll just tell Golden Boy to stuff it.

I have just seen Khan's comments regarding SKY. Either his management are lying to him, or he thinks we are stupid.

"We talked to Sky and they didn't want the Bradley or Judah fights"
"We don't have answers as to why they're not interested"
"I don't know if it's me or if they don't enjoy my boxing."

I like how he leaves out that Team Khan was not interested in being on anything but PPV, and that is why it is not on SKY. SKY would of quite happily put them on SS1/2/3 for all to see but that didn't meet TK's over inflated financial demands.

Instead he is attempting to make out to fans that the reason they are on this little ppv channel is because big bad SKY wouldn't have them.

Sky are too big for anyone to dictate to them. Golden Boy are not going to turn there back on them because there is no viable alternitave.

Team Khan obviously want to work with Sky but are obsessed with PPV. They should just accept that fights like this would be better on Sky Sports and further down the line the SBO option can open up but for now just go on Sky Sports and let expose yourself to a higher number of people.

I remember after the McCloskey fight there were people on here who thought there was no rift and Sky would come crawling back to Khan but this was never going to happen as Sky dont need Khan.

The fact that Khan has mentioned talks with Sky suggest they are desperat to be back on the Sky platform but only on there terms which is never going to happen.

Why wouldnt PBF v Ortiz be on PPV if there is a Frank W 'super' card from the UK as well?

It was nothing to do with the fact that Khan's team are a shower of cowboys. It's obviously just anti-asian/muslim prejudice from Sky.

The question I have is if the McCloskey fight on primetime was such a success why did they even try and get back on board with Sky?

The reality is they know that Primetime is smalltime with minimal exposure, minimal promotion and not much better than not being on tv.

Primetime did nothing for Carl Froch's career and Khan even mocked froch last year for 'having no TV'.

It is plausible there could be a FW PPV that night? Yes. Going from that to assuming Mayweather is on it is a massive leap.

It will be on SS1/2/3. Mayweather Ortiz is no more PPV in the UK market than Vit Klitscho Vs Solis is.

They didn't try, Sky had said after they pulled McCloskey from PPV that the next one wouldn't be PPV either, just regular Sky Sports. TK weren't interested and went straight to Primetime.

But it's funny how things have changed with Froch and Khan now.

Its ultimately a poor decision from Team Khan.

Hes always 1 KO loss away from being off HBO and coming back to the UK to Primetime PPV, instead of a cosy 3/4 fights building him up again by Sky and another dip back into PPV with a good name
