Well...Good posts, thanks..... In my opinion.... Carnera could break him down with uppercuts when Tua slips a jab (Carnera had a great uppercut !).....and like others said, Carnera had underrated mobility, this is not a easy fight for Tua.... Tua was too slow to get close without punishment
Primo takes the decision by keeping Tua at long range, then either tying him up in close, or uppercutting and roughhousing on the inside. Tremendous heart and conditioning. We can't read too terribly much into that multitude of knockdowns from Baer because of the bad ankle.
It will be redundant at this point, but I'll add a supporting post for Carnera, as Carnera had decent wheels for a guy his size and counld box well enough to handle Tua, also with some pop to boot- we know from Lewis that it helps... Tua has that one-shot chance, but on the whole, Unforgiven nailed it perfectly when he noted Carnera's strong points, and equated it to "Tua's nightmare"...
