It's not Very weird at all.. He hurt Cotto more because he actually HIT Cotto. He didn't really land any significant punch on SSM, this is why he didn't get hurt. Shane had the perfect game plan..

If you saw the Cotto fight you would see the little punches he caught Cotto with before he started landing solid shots did damage, he landed some of these same types of shots on Shane and they did nothing. That's what I'm trying to say.
i have actually watched the Cotto/Margo fight about 4 times... and you are exactly right.. while many feel Cotto dominated the first 6rds, AM was doing a lot of damage to the body, which took its toll in the later rounds.. I have watched the SSM/Margo fight 3 times.. and while SSM dominated all rounds like Cotto, Margo did not land anything close to the body work or any kind of punches on SSM.. This is due to SSM closing the gap when Margo started to engage then clinching... Something Cotto failed to do.. Again, this is why Cotto was hurt and SSM was not. It had nothing to do with illegal wrap..
I think we should all wait till the results come back. It's insane to already assume marco had loaded gloves for cotto when it's not even proven that he had them for shane. Why discredit the man of all that he's achieved before even confirming the allegations? If you remember after the stoppage in cotto's fight margo was walking around with that wrap doing interviews and shaking hands with everyone including cotto's team, does a man with plaster in his wraps do such things? It doesn't make sense, anyone couldve felt that ****.
Is cotto as durable as shane? Haven't we seen him stunned by fighters considered to be featherfisted? I can't recall one good punch that margo landed against mosley, he didn't even go to the body which he used a lot against cotto. They're just two different fights and it would be unfair to compare the two and expect the same result.
To be honest I've only seen Cotto hurt by one guy that wasn't really a big puncher and that was chop chop, but even chop chop rocked floyd too so I wouldn't really wouldn't say chop chop was feather fisted. Other than that Cotto was rocked by Torres and he's a puncher, stunned a bit by Judah and people can say what they want about him but he's NOT feather fisted. Shane backed up Cotto but Shane is a puncher. So I don't really know what you mean by Cotto getting stunned by fighters who are feather fisted. And I'm not saying the same result from the Cotto fight should have happened, I know they are 2 different fights. What I'm saying is the tiny pitty pat punches that grazed Cotto slightly seem to wear Cotto down. Marg landed a few of those on Shane, just a few not alot. I know Shane didn't get hit nearly as much or as flush. I agree with you totally the Shane fight was very different. Maybe I explained it wrong before.
What I am asking for, before we hang, draw and quarter Margo, is a credible link proving that a substance was even found. For all we know, he may have been made to rewrap his hands 3 times because there was too much tape used, as yet another report suggested. Is that too much to ask, or do you all suffer from Pavlov's dog syndrome and just can't help your mouths watering at the first hint of foul play, despite it not yet being verified? I am happy to wait until official news comes out, not the word of a vague article in the LA Times, a contradictory statement from Margo's corner, and the on-TV conversation held by 3 commentators who themselves would only have known about it at the time through hearsay.
