Thought it would be interesting to bump this.

Despite their recent success, I still agree with the OP that Thurman, Porter and Stevenson are not that good.

I personally don't see ANY of the Mayweather Promotions guys going places.

    Badou Jack
    J'Leon Love
    Mickey Bey
    Luis Arias

Though Errol Spence should do fine.

Porter and Stevenson are world champs. Both with convincing wins. So you think a prospect who becomes a world champ in convincing fashion is not good?

The question is "I just don't see it". So you didn't see these guys win championships?

Sometimes, world champions here are called bum or hype job, even though they have almost 10 title defences in a really elegant fashion.

I don't like Broner for instance, but the guy still won few titles in different weight class at an early age, which is really impressive, but for some he was just "never that good".

When a guy manage to get a world title, even though he is the weakest of the four titlist, is no bum. Period!

Wilder on the other hand, for instance, still is fighting against tomato can. He smashed them pretty well, but he is fighting guys with loosing record or guys that are not ranked within the best 15 in any of the rankings.

IMAO Porter is the real deal. Still not sold on Thurman, to be honest he hasn't fought anyone of real notice since this thread started. I would highly favor Porter if he is matched with Thurman.

Kovalev im doubtful about. He seems the real deal because of his punching power, but take that away and he doesn't seem to have a lot else. Hopkins would take that power away from him early and cruise a UD. I hope im proved wrong about him though

Cleverly said in an interview that Kovalev cuts off the ring well and has good timing.

Before 2013 i actually rated this guy.... then came fight time to step it up in 9 yrs of boxing against Alexander and he pulls out from an injury... i think it happens... but when it happened for the 2nd time he lost any credibility he had... then goes ahead and ducks timothy bradley... over a year later, 32 fights later, 10 years since his pro debut he is stll a nobody and has fought no one ......

thurman is the biggest mystery for me on one hand he could be a nightmare for anyone at 147 a real strong akward and pretty quick fighter but does he have a suspect beard and how will he fare once he steps up a level
