Public Service Announcement: Hatton is taking this much more seriously than Floyd

I totally agree.

I think this is the fight where PBF finally falls into the trap of believing his own hype, doesn't take Hatton seriously, gets surprised by Hatton's ferocity and relentlessness, and has no answer to it.

As they say, Pride cometh before a fall.

 

I think people dont give Hatton enough credit.

 

There is a subtle diffrence here.Floyds arrogance is quiet confidence.BOTH guys are consumate gym rats.I have never seen anyone train as hard as PBF and as hard as Hatton does.But the deciding factor here is PBF`s talent which WILL prevail.

 

This is a very important point. Not trying to sound like Teddy Atlas but you can't underestimate the will of a fighter. We all have seen upsets where the fighter who wanted it more..got it. It's do or die time for Hatton and he knows it. Aside from this Hatton brings quite abit to the table. The question here is will he feed or fold under the pressure? I think he'll feed off it and ultimately giving PBF some problems. Cheers:good

 

I would say the point is probably correct but the inference is questionable. Ricky likely is more focused and training "harder" than Floyd. But Floyd is a consumate pro and he wont turn up in anything but peak condition

and yes I am a Brit and I do want Ricky to win but pinning your hopes on Floyd turning up out of shape is futile, he is way too good to do that to himself.

 

Right. And when he signed up for the show and was on it, he had no idea how long he was going to be participating. Meanwhile, Ricky Hatton was training his ass off. And Floyd new this.

Like everyone else, I expect Floyd to come into the fight in great shape. But that doesn't change the fact that Hatton was and is taking this more seriously than Floyd.

 

Floyd actually started his camp early, sparred in the morning, did the show, came home and ran, did some more of the show, then lifted. So he's been working hard and taking this fight very seriously. Had he stayed on that show the full time, I think he would've wore himself out. As far as how seriously he's taking this fight, I have no doubts that he's 100% focused and dedicated.

Neither fighter or camp should complain or have issue/excuse with weight or preparation in this fight. :nono

He may be 100% focused and dedicated NOW, but you can't say that he was when he was participating on a goddamn game show.
