That's not true...casuals still turn out in big numbers for boxing if its the right guy. Problem with Hearns stable is that despite having some decent talent in it there's no real main stream cross over stars whether it's Froch, Brook or Burns. Haye had that mainstream appeal so was a good to get him back on Sky Boxing but they need more guys like Fury and Khan or with the same kind of 'must watch' star qaulity that Hamed, Eubanks, Benn, Bruno and Hatton had. There's probably only 3 boxers in UK that have that mainstream appeal and two of them Fury and Khan are on other channels.
Purdy can't make the weight... Simple as that he was heavy on his last fight. He won't fight at ww no more. No biggy jus out grow the weight. one thing we know bout Purdy,he comes to fight so it should he exciting how ever it goes!
Richard Shaeffer seems to dislike the Hearns after the way they behaved to his favourite adopted 'son' so yeah this is probably another nail in the coffin for their relationship.
He misses out on a world title but will be guaranteed a big money fight next, if Purdy wins then Purdy/Alexander II makes sense for the belt But tbh 1 pound is a bit of a joke not to lose but i dont think hes blown anything

Belts don't mean nothing when it's greats like Mayweather, Pac, Lennox Lewis who don't need to fight for them anymore not Lee Purdy who is a domestic level fighter at best and got his ass handed to him only last year by Colin Lynes. Everyone has said the fight was a total mis-match, only interesting thing about it was that there was a world title on the line and now that's gone it's not even a good undercard fight any more.
The belts do mean something in the majority of cases. Although the WBC are a farce, and the interims and regular belts are not proper titles ie they are paper belts. In this case, the belt was everything. I'm sorry but tomorrow night was meant to be a big night for boxing fans we were looking forward to. For several reasons we've seen - Kell Brook injured and pulling out of a world title fight for the 2nd time that was already rescheduled. - Matthysse Peterson not fighting for the IBF world crown, and despite reading quotes from all involved , there is still no valid reason. Farcical. - Now Lee Purdy steps in and at the last hurdle fails to make weight losing us yet another world title fight. My opinion is British Boxing is in bad health for a multitude of reasons and stuff like this is only to it.

I understand that But if purdy somehow wins he still makes himself a player at welter or light middle So with the scales done with he just has to knuckle down and make the most of what could be a once in a lifetime opportunity
Thought Brook-Alexander was a bad fight, thought the Purdy replacement was even worse. If I wasn't interested before, I'm practically comatose now. But it is a shame for Hearn. The stars really haven't aligned for him with this deal. But he picked a fairly gash bunch of fighters to back if we're honest. Bellew, Brook and Barker - all mediocre in the grand scheme of things and lacking much personality or a pleasing style to be marketable. Froch is the best of them, but he just doesn't come over well to anyone. Even boxing fans find him abrasive and delusional. And he'll be retired in a couple of years at best (maybe sooner if the Kessler rematch is as fierce and damaging as the first). He needs someone who is fun to watch, makes for great fights, has a chance of competing at world-level and is a charming/engaging fella. And some fighters to make it through a camp without injury!
