If by ¨landing¨ you mean softly touching him after being partially blocked by Malik's gloves then I agree Anyway, even Malik has admitted the right hand was a non factor and that it was the left hook that left him ¨senseless¨
What's lame about a picture that shows a punch did, indeed, land -- when tinfoil hats claim it did not? I personally believe that Scott freaked out a la Bruce Seldon vs. Tyson or Herbie Hide vs. Bowe: fear magnified the power from his perception. He was hit by the left and by the right. There's really no disputing that as there is visual evidence of both. Whether it was hard enough that it should have stopped him is a point of fair debate.
If there was contact by the right hand, it was minimal and insignificant watch Scott's arms, the impact was absorbed by them, his head wasn't shaken in the slightest by the right hand http://abload.de/img/wildrrk6u.gif
That's what I was looking for. Usually it's hard to see live but on a replay you can see a guys head rattle.
i agree they both landed....they did "touch" his face. thats about it. scott flat out quit, dogged it, however people want to label it. never gonna buy that a guy thats been a chief sparring partner for almost every top heavyweight including wlad would suddenly "fear" being hit with a punch by a skinny heavyweight thats only ko'd cans
The left hook was an arm punch and the right hand did not land, it was clearly blocked. Thus, the crowd booing like hell....................... Very prefabricated fake fight..............
Left hook was an arm punch and did not land on the temple but the ear. If he was senseless from the left slap then how did he have the presence of mind to adjust his guard to try and block the right hand as well as being aware enough to use his left arm to soften his fall? The right hand may have landed but would have been greatly softened by being partially blocked. It did not move Scott's head at all if it made contact and it may have literally just brushed Scott's cheek. Was the fix in? Nobody can know for sure without hard evidence but either way fix or lack of heart this added nothing to Wilder's resume. Either the fight was fixed or his opponent was looking for a way out. There's still a big question mark over Wilder's true ability because the fight with Scott proved nothing.
Arreola, Thompson, Jennings are all better than him, every under aspect, chin, resume, stamina, skills.
And in addition to being not hurt by the first slap, since he adjusted his guard for the right hand that missed, he never lost eye contact with Wilder, from the start from when he reached the floor he was always steadily looking Wilder in the eyes, you never see that kind of focus in someone that is even remotely stunned. :deal Also, Wilder never once watched back after the knockdown, he already knew Scott wouldn't have gotten up, this never happens expecially when the opponent goes down unexpectedly for a weak punch. Last, but not least: what kind of utility would have Scott as a sparring partner if he isn't able to resist even a slap? Every right hand that lands, the spar would be stopped for 5 minutes! And what kind of sparring partner waits for his opponent without ever launching a punch? It looked like he never fought with Wilder before. I wonder how long they practiced it.
Jennings is a legit top 20 fighter. Scuba Scott is not, was not and never will be. He should be banned from boxing for life.
