I can't remember the round per round scoring. I was a DLH fan back then but I thought Ike won the fight.

First and foremost this was one hell of a fight. I had DLH just barely pulling this one out. I haven't seen it in a few years, but in the weeks following the fight I must have watched it about 4 times. Even in a losing effort Quartey put up the best performance of his career and gave DLH serious problems ( swept about 3 to 4 rds.) in the middle rds. DLH sucked it up and poured it on in the last few rds to pull it out.

I have seen the fight twice and scored it for Ike by a point both times. It was clearly quite a close fight but Oscar just didn't quite do enough to be a worthy winner for me. He lost too many rounds in the middle of the fight for his late rally to win him the fight.

I thought DLH clearly won the fight. I don't get the controversy.

...apparently it doesn't work since boxing isn't a mainstream sport....

be happy they promote the sport before you think about canning them.

Oscar won the fight (albeit close) and your score card is a ****in nightmare.

Mmm...I don't get what all the fuzz is about with this fight...yeah it was close but come on guys, stop saying Ike was robbed. Whenever we have a close decision most people are quick to say one guy was robbed and another is given a gift decision...sometimes close decisions go to the right guy...sometimes it does not. In this case it went to the right guy. When its very close it will always be controversial, we can't avoid that but the difference in this fight is that DLH had a lopsided 12th round in his favor with fight being close after 11 rounds. I remember that night like it was yesterday, I remember having Quartey winning the fight 6-5 going into the 12th round. All I remember is thinking to myself, OSCAR NEEDS TO WIN A CLEAR 12th ROUND TO HAVE A CHANCE ON THE SCORECARDS, whether its a draw or a win. I remember having the feeling that Oscar might actually lose a decision if he does not take the 12th round clearly in every judges scorecard, by clearly I mean win the round 10-9 on all 3 scorecards. Also, going in into the 10th round I thought DLH needed to bag himself basically at least 2 of the last 3 rounds to have a chance. He did just that taking rounds 10-11, but like I said he needed the 12th still to make it 6-6 on my scorecard(almost everyone watching the fight with me that night all had the same socre as me) So Quartey if he won the 12th round I thought hey, hes going to win the fight, but not only does Oscar win the round he wins it BIG time. Knocking down Quartey and staggering him at least 2 times on the ropes. I gave Oscar a 10-8 round so after the fight ended I remember thinking Oscar won the fight simply because of his 12th round dominance. I have to wonder though, did any of the judges give DLH a 10-7 round? Regardless, Oscar on my card won 114-113. So simply said, Oscar won the fight on the 12th round blowout alone. It was close, hence the split decision but Oscar deserved it on his 12th round dominance.

Last time I scored it, I had it to Quartey by a point. Boring fight with a very exciting last round. Wasn't impressed by Oscar's performance at all, other than his desire to win in the final stanza, but even then I don't think it was enough.
