pecks i here things are souths are hitting a new low.... you heard anything? i heard the central coast is looking like a viable option
I haven't been to the Souths forum this year, and have only heard whats been on the news. I don't think we'll go to the CC. I do think theres some risk that we'll go under, but other clubs are more at risk, like Cronulla, Parra, and the Bulldogs. I think Peter HaC is just trying to drum up more members. I do think that theres been a bit of complacency in how the clubs been run since last year. To be fair though, both him and Crowe put in a lot of hard work last year, and I guess they were hoping that things would continue to move along just as nicely. It hasn't, and I think we're without a major sponsor too. We'll finish the year at a loss this year (financially). I don't think we'll ever go under tbh. Theres too much support for Souths to let that happen, the problem is that it only comes around when they're in dire straits. Some money will come in when we're on the verge of oblivion, but I still think thats a while away from happening, although, things need to pick up obviously.
Don't think so. I know Brisbane have the largest by far (they're up there close to many of the AFL clubs members numbers. 2nd is very distant and still at a poor figure. Souths are actually up pretty high on the list, but in order to always turn over a profit, the member numbers need to be much higher, thats why many of the leagues clubs fail to make much of a profit each year. When Melbourne won the comp in 1999, they ended up with a loss of around 5 million that year.
Yeah I knew Brisbane had the largest, but what do you expect? 1 city, 1 team. I'd be really interested to find out about Parra. I'm certain someone told me a while ago that their membership was huge. I'd imagine Penrith's would be big too.
Penrith have the biggest jnr base in Sydney, and Parra is a team with big support throughout the East coast of Australia (like St.George, and I guess you could say Souths too ). They could have the 2nd highest members in the NRL, but I'm sure they are still a long way off Brisbane. I'm lead to believe that Brisbane has or almost has double the members of their closest rival.
This would be my team for origin 2: 1. Hunt 2. Folau 3. Inglis 4. Hodges 5. Tate 6. Prince 7. Thurston 8. Webb 9. Smith 10. Civonecieva 11. Thaiday 12. Myles 13. Johnson Interchange: Hannant, Crocker, Lockyer, Meyers (in good form for the Titans) Lockyer might be fit by then but why put him on the run on side? Make him come off the bench 30 mins in when they start tiring, like the Broncos did early this year. Dealing with Prince AND lockyer AND Thruston will give NSW nightmares. Especially if the have a good kicking game and get the ball to the outside backs. They need to try something NEW, this Mal Maninga loyalty bull**** needs to go.
I don't think QLD will be making mass changes, if any (except for Lockyer, but that would have happened had they of won). QLD have a history of showing faith in their team, and it's usually proven effective.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahaha Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Hope not, but even as dominant as NSW were in game 1 they still looked like they will struggle to score points especially if Gaz doesn't play.
