Warrens only doing what Micky Duff, Jarvis Astaire etc were doing before him, its just that he's got more wriggle room with all these titles knocking about.
Did they ever let a stipulation be put into a contract for their charge to fight the man they were trying to freeze out though?
Yes, but at the same time Eubank/Benn never fought Toney, McCallum, Hopkins or Jones..... I'd rather see Hatton fighting Tszyu/Mayweather/Castillo than be involved in domestic showdowns a la Eubank and co.
The glaring difference being that Hatton has gone out there and fought better fighters than Witter in the main whilst Benn,Eubank and Watson were fighting each other whilst avoiding a lot of the tops fights out there.Warren was happy to tell you they were the best but we know different dont we.
' I've no idea, I do know they ran a tighter monopoly on British boxing than Warren does.......I take it Hatton-Witter is still the subtext in that post?
Hatton obviously thought it was a fight worth taking at one point though given he had it written into his contract.
Whilst we are on about that era could anyone tell me the name of the Italian boxer who beat Herol Graham on a ridiculous points decision.I was talking about it the other day and couldnt remember his name!Talked about the Julian Jackson fight and Mcallum one.Unlucky and underated Graham methinks!
So Hatton wanted to fight Witter but Witter killed the fight by being ****? You could have brought it up in one of the million 'Hatton's ducked Witter since before the actual dawn of time' threads....
Errr...shut up you condescending *****. Gaz said he'd never heard of that particular scenario before so I was merely providing citation as opposed to the usual hearsay & conjecture that is used on here. Is that okay?
Yes and I commented on the implications of the citation. Jesus, you're in a ****y mood today. Bit of a shame because you've actually made some reasonable and thought provoking posts over the last couple of days like you used to.
