Right, you just proved my point, Kelly Pavlik and Michael Spinks didn't move up and beat 'the man'. So they didn't prove they were effective or competitive at a higher weight. Calzaghe moved up and beat a top ten guy in Jones (albeit shot to ****) and he won a fight against 'the man', so Calzaghe clearly was competive and effective at LH. Would he have been as good a LH as he was a SMW? Doubt it, but thats different to being "competetive and effective".
