Questions About Wlad Klitschko?

    The Haye fight in 2011 was Wlad in the prime of his career and he looked great against Pulev in 2014. Thompson 2 in 2012 was a much better performance than Thompson 1 in 2008. From 2003-2005 he was getting dropped and stopped frequently, so his prime definitely came a fair bit later.

    Wilder's team wouldn't have chanced their hand until at least late 2016 and maybe not even then. Ortiz would have been dangerous, especially if the fight was in America. Joshua would have had more difficulty going to Germany to fight active champion Wlad than he did fighting an inactive dethroned Wlad in Britain, and Joshua barely won that. Judging by AJ's record away from home (0-1 NOMAS7) you'd have to favour Wlad.

    If Wlad's next three fights had been Ortiz/Wilder/Joshua in whatever order it's likely that one of them would have beaten him but he'd have been favourite in any individual matchup, at least before 2017.
