One fight that has to happen!! That seems like a fair assessment to me Len, but I just think the fight would be a lot closer than many would have us believe. Frampton is a great boxer and Quigg seems to be one hard little ba$****- styles make fights and all that- could go either way for me, but longer it went the more I would fancy Quigg to win!!
It would be gas if, lets say, they box soon, and Quigg loses narrowly on points. Then the questions will start as to why he didnt step up sooner and get better prep against better class of opponents. Ah well, time will tell.....
I think Frampton is the favourite, but I really don't know. Both are unproven at the elite level. As much as you love to pretend Kiko was the terminator, the reality is he is incredibly one-dimensional and was made for Carl. I think the fact this fight can provoke so much talk without it even being close to happening shows how big it could potentially be. It has to happen next year.
The outcome being so up-in-the-air is a vital ingredient to a super-fight any day. This fight has that. No way would I rule Scott out. But I still would make Carl favourite at this stage. Id have a clearer idea if I could see Scot in with some top level guy first.
I know you're a Frampton man, but is Kiko seriously top level? He's tough, has power and is extremely game, but he's incredibly one-dimensional. Any "boxer" will be able to get a points decision against him so long as they don't get caught.
Apparently he is a bit better and slicker than " incredibly one-dimensional", Solaris. Frampton is a real sharpshooter and over two long fights he rarely caught him clean. I believe Jason Booth said Kiko is impossible to hit too. Plus he has been in the form of his life recently. I would love to see Quigg v Kiko. Be a fantastic fight. wouldn't like to pick a winner there at all! PS . What about the poor Schlep that LSC clobbered. now that fight really WAS a disgrace.
Quigg looked far too easy to hit. With Frampton's footwork Quigg would find it hard to hit the body. When Quigg targets the head that's when Frampton would pick him off and knock him out
I agree the key to beating Quigg is movement. Keep him spinning and turning, never letting him set his feet to unload those body shots, and you can beat him I'm sure. Do not engage in a war of attrition with him though, he is huge at the weight...the M artin Murray of 122.
"50:50" could well be either the making or undoing of this fight. It might be 50/50 competitiveness wise, but will Carl agree to it being 50/50 money wise? Quigg is insisting he wants half the loot. But Carl is the one who brings in the fans and is the "Real" titleholder. Can they resolve this impasse?
