The bigger problem I would say is not catchweight but the fact fighters are allow to fight over the limit on fight night. That's a bigger problem. If fighters would abide by the weight limits on fight night, then I would see catchweights play smaller roles to prevent fighters from abusing the limit.

  4. FOREAL and I can't believe this sppiwhatever guy even shows his face around here anymore after the shellacking he received for his ass-hattery.

No surprise, still talking straight out his ass.

I read through some of the insults people were posting on that thread last night, some funny stuff. That thread deserves to be bumped actually...just incase anyone missed it, or for any new comers to the forum...it could be used as an example of how not to word a thread.

Also people are only viewing catchweight through the eyes of the bigger fighter. Catchweight were invented so the little guy don't have to give up so much more weight to take on the big guy. Leveling the playing field more fairly. We want a fair matchup, both sides is giving up something to make this fight. As long as the catchweight is within the weight division than it's fair and qualifies for that particular division. I prefer no catchweight to be honest, but because bigger fighters tend to go over the limit on fight night, then you need something as a catchweight to limit the extra weight they will regain on fight night.

Never thoght of it that way, just when i started to get upset about pacs new demand, but then again the LIMIT IS 154 AND ITS BEING DEMAND to be at 150 creating a new LIMIT. But the way you put it convinces me, im all 4 it:good

If he isn't willing to fight someone who weighs in at 154 for a 154lb title then he has no business fighting for that belt.

  9. Thats it, im bumping that ****.

  10. First, kudos for the Randy Rhodes avy...

Second, I'll repeat myself a bit here... but 154 is the weight LIMIT. You don't gotta weigh exactly 154 to fight for the title... thats the rules. If Margo wants to weigh 154 why is he gonna agree to the fight?? You wanna ***** about it being for a title? WBC is where you direct that...not Manny.

bottom line NO TITLE NO PROBLEM

    1. A fighter using financial leverage to get another fighter to drain himself still devalues the fight, whether both parties agree to it or not. Rockgloves isn't in a position to decline. He'll earn a career high payday.

    2. No, but a catchweight is a catchweight.

    3. Yes, the limit of the Super Middleweight Division is 154lbs and people can weight less. The problem is when people use catchweights to drain other fighters which makes it easier to lay a meaningless beating on them.

You mean: " Quit bitching about Pac" right?

  14. You idiots can use this to call me a ******* if you want... if you really knew something about me, ya know, read any of my previous 900+ posts, you would see that I'm just a hardcore boxing fan with an opinion on this matter.

But if thats the angle you are coming from.. How about Mayweather's complete douchebaggery with the Marquez fight?? Lets agree to 144 to lure the little guy up 2 weightclasses and then lets go ahead and ignore the contracted weight. Real pro trick right there. At least with this Pacman vs. Margo fight I bet everyone actually makes the weight agreed to in the contract.

OHAY how about B-Hop using the same trick to lure an already overrated and underskilled middleweight up just barely past the 168 weight limit to give him a beating?? Pavlik deserved that ****, he should have never agreed to it... This Pacquiao situation is a whole different story but y'all weren't bitching about Mayweather and B-Hop were you?
