But that's not today's protocol. From what I understand the welterweight limit is 147. And the minimum weight for middleweights is 154. Those are the rules. You may not like them, but that's what we all must follow. If Pacquiao beats Margarito and continues to defeat the top players at 154, I'll be more than willing to give him a ton of credit for it. Until then, it's all smoke and mirrors. I'm sure it's been mentioned many times, but if Manny can't make 154 don't fight at middleweight! Simple as that. He'd get more credit defeating Bradley at 147 anyway. Dumb decision in my opinion.

 

I think people are more upset that its for the 154 pound title....AND ITS A VACANT TITLE....

 

Do you really think Marg wants to come in at 150? Arum is bending over backwards and paying him a very good penny to fight his moneymaker. I understand what you are saying, but this match-up is different. Marg is possibly cursing out everyone for being forced to fight at 150. He will get humiliated and stopped within seven rounds. Take on Bradley, Berto, or the other 140 champs. When it is over, all your going to hear is that Pac beat-up a dehydrated fighter.

Rockgloves had a year-long layoff for cheating and hasn't weighed in at Welterweight since. Pacquiao could weigh in at 140lbs and still beat the stuffing out of Rockgloves. This fight isn't even mildly competitive. The fact that they're insisting on a 150lbs catchweight is a joke.

If 150lbs isn't a problem for Rockgloves, why are they asking for it? Ask yourself that question.

 

It could be a factor due to Marg not fighting for a year so the weight could be an issue. With the money and help getting his boxing lisence, he will starve to 140 if he had to. He came in at exactly 154 on his last fight and I did not hear how much more weight he gained for the actual fight which gives you signs. You know there will be hate threads as soon as Marg loses. I just want to see a good fight and also find out how PBF tops this fight. Sergio maybe?

 

This ain't about catch weights. This is about using promotional clout to rig boxing history.

How do you take an undeserving WW who was never really successful at 154, who can't get a license in the US, who got caught cheating and got KTFO and a WW who wouldn't face any other legit 154 pounder even at a catchweight and put them in a title eliminator?

It is a prime example of everything WRONG with boxing. Promoters just running the sport through the mud and distorting boxing history.

 

Like I said , the *****s are all butt hurt that their lover has been exposed as a huge vagina, who retires or goes on vacation whenever an opponent who Is too dangerous is in his path. So they are all up in arms against catchweights..

Catchweights , I don't really care for them , but when a former flyweight is fighting a junior middleweight , it's not such a big deal.

I would rather see a catchweight fight than no fght at all..
