Looks like we have a very solid gatekeeper in our hands. Wouldn't mind seeing Beterbiev in there with him later this year.
...although, if Jeff Page can strike early.. :think But of course that would be his only chance. If he didn't crack Beterbiev early that is a VERY painful night for Kalajdzic.
I want to see a 12 round rematch for Rad against Browne, then feed Browne to Beterbiev, then Radivoje can expose Joe Smith Jr a little more, maybe take out Steve Lovett and then feed him to Beterbiev, now that sounds like a good plan.
And there's the little thing of Beterbiev basically stumbling backwards and not really getting knocked down by Page. Maybe Radivoje can put him down with a phantom punch, like what happened to him.
It would be Beterbiev's luck if Chad ran like hell from the opening bell and made it to Round 2 then being brutally KO'd, then all the idiots on her could gloat and say how much more power Stevenson has than Beterbiev.atsch
Hot Rod is back!!!! ...for his third appearance since the Marcus Browne robbery, in fact... (having already returned in September of that same year to upset yet another Lou DiBella prospect with a kayo in 5 of Travis Peterkin, then 16-0-1 in the pros with a 95-7 amateur mark) but just the second time since interrupting a 22-month layoff with a blitz of 13-28 moldy old tomato can BradAustin this July. That means come October 5th, the Friday after next, Kalajdzic will have logged under three minutes in the prize ring in over 2 years! Of his prime. The opponent is Colombian southpaw glass cannon Alex Theran...no soft touch for someone as rusty as Hot Rod. WAR RADIVOJE!
Yes "Hot Rod" is a beast, in my opinion he easily outboxed Marcus Browne. It sucks that he had a hand injury the next fight and then a long layoff. When you dont have a big time promoter its hard to get fights after something like that, because no contenders will want to fight you. Browne ducked the rematch, i wish Lou Dibella could give him some higher profile fights.
Don't see one for him on sportenote - usually if guys don't have one there, or have it listed on their Wikipedia page (if they have one, if not then maybe on their bio page on BoxRec), and they're not Olympians nor WSB veterans or something else where they would have been high profile enough for their amateur record to be researched & reported in a mainstream article somewhere...usually they're extremely hard to come by, in my experience. I do, however, remember a lot of fuss being made, in the run-up to Kalajdzic vs. Browne, of the fact that Hot Rod had a very skimpy amateur resume. Not quite a Mexican-style learning-on-the-job deal but he might've only had a couple dozen bouts or something.
Hot Rod Kick Browne's Arse. I've seen that Marcus Browne trained at the Olympic training center, very motivational.
This may have flew under some radars. Looks like hot rod is back in the sport after getting a quick win over Brad Austin a couple of months ago. He is due to fight Alex Theran this friday in what should be another blowout. Good to see him back in the sport after that horrendous robbery against Marcus Browne back in 2016. Anyone know why he was out for so long? He is a bit of a dark horse in my book.
