He checked in at 119lbs which is 4 lbs over the 115lb limit. The fight will push through as scheduled however Concepcion is disqualified from being able to win the vacated WBA interim super fly weight title in his bout against Nonito Donaire tomorrow night. Donaire came in right at the 115lb limit. The rest of the card's combatants also made weight.

Usually on fight nights Donaire seems to be fighting a good two weight classes or so higher than his opponents. If Concepcion isn't completely starched from cutting weight, things could get very interesting tomorrow night.

Its either disgraceful or great business as he now has a better possibility of beating Donaire because of his weight and a chance of better paydays.

What a surprise. This latest incident sums up Donaire's career just about perfectly post-Darchinyan. Below acceptable opponents and all sorts of setbacks, and Nonito, a great guy with a lot of skills, just can't stop these **** happening around him, while time passes and his career is going nowhere.

There are a millon fighters out there with a better record than Concepcion's 13-3-1, yet Arum managed to find a late Arce leftover who can't even make weight. It's so frustrating it's almost funny.

i'm glad the fight's not cancelled. Is there any advantage coming 4 pounds over and even more on Saturday?

Only 2 possibilities, either a strong Concepcion (being so much heavier/bigger than Donaire) or a weak Concepcion (being drained too much for trying to make weight) will come out on fight night...

Props to Donaire for agreeing to push through with the fight when he could have cancelled it... 4 lbs. is a lot in the lighter flyweight division... Heck people/fans were bullshitting each other over 2 lbs. in the welterweight division...;)

Not really bothered...I don't think Concepcion has much of a chance.

If he realised from far out he wasn't going to make the limit, he might be stronger...could make for a better spectacle.
