Chandler probably would've finished him off even with the leg injury. That clown prancing around the ring gloating was among the most cringeworthy things I've seen in this sport.
So you're just going to pretend the Condit fight didn't happen? It was clear to everyone that he was ahead in the Lawler fight - his corner obviously knew and likely informed him that he just had to survive for the next 5 minutes. I could forgive that one considering he took a lot of damage, but he mentally checked out... He wasn't physically incapacitated. When you lose 2/3 of the biggest fights in your career the way he did despite being superior to your opponents skill wise it's clear that there's a problem with testicular fortitude. Not sure why you're trying to argue this. Now there are levels to this and he's clearly no among the worst offenders say a Sonnen as you mentioned, but it's clearly an issue.
LOL For starters you didnt read my original comment where I clearly referenced the Condit fight because despite your claims he is a quitter there is only 2 possible examples of such behaviour. I'm a Condit fan and with his record at the time of 25 wins 24 stoppages it as always going to be hard and silly to just do nothing against him for a round. The way Rory lost in no way is quitting mentally or otherwise. As a condit fan I was happy and agree with the stoppage but there were plenty saying the fight with 7 seconds left shouldn't have been stopped. You must be kidding about the Lawler fight which as well as being fight of the year was voted best UFC fight ever Iin ESPN poll as being any proof of being a quitter. Maybe a lot may have thought he was up 3-1going into the last but in no way was it clear. You would know full well how often the scorecards are off compared to what the majority think. I agree he was physically fine but I can't imagine anybody apart from fighters who had absorbed that kinda punishment being able to say that Rory had quit or mentally checked out. Not that he has anything to be ashamed of but I imagine losing 2 of the ATG fights in the last round while ahead could potentially effect him mentally going forward but I just can't agree with you about him quitting or mentally checking out. He just happened to wilt before Lawler did after the damage each of them took. From what we have seen since that fight Lawler may be the one,who despite winning and getting the title may come out of it worse in regards to fighting and health wise.
