But those are both bad examples because they are already scheduled to fight each other and they were scheduled before Randy came back. Nog has the interim title and everyone knows the winner or Mir-Nog is going to get the winner of Lesnar-Couture first thing. Should they cancel Mir-Nog? I don't think so. Do they make Couture wait another 4 months? I think that's a bad idea too.
Yea... why not give all heavyweights interim/sub-interim etc belts then we can have an all out brawl for one belt but you have to climb a ladder in the middle of the octagon to get it. That'll get us going...
Tough pick, if randy can survive the first two rounds I think he can do it. The trouble is all that mass and energy coming at him for the first two rounds. Though Randy is the smartest heavyweight in the use of the cage environment so I think he has a plan to make Brock spend a lot of energy just to keep those muscles fed and then its a cardio patience battle which randy wins. Though I see it going to decision and he has to start winning by round 3 or he is going to have an impressive loss. So I will pick Randy but with reservations. A couple of questions, and I am not trying to stir the nest, but did Lesner do Steroids when in whatever wrestling outfit he was in? I only ask because I have herd the reports that they pressure those guys to use steroids to bulk up and look good on camera, and if he did doesnt the time he has hopefully not been using eventually catch up to him? I am asking a real question as I dont know if he did and I dont know what the real side effects of using steroids and stopping are.
wouldn't be so sure about that he struggled against barnett and ricco back in the day and he has never really beaten a guy who is stronger/bigger and good at wrestling apart from randleman who despite having skills has no mental game.
Odds are yes, he was. Most users cycle on and off, and Brock has probably been off for a while and his body is totally used to it.
hmmmm remember the last time in a combat sport we saw and old seasoned veteran go up against a one dimensional young buck? *cough* b-hopv.s.kellypavlik *cough* i know two different sports but i think that randy couture is being extremely underrated considering everything that he has done.
I think Nog beats him 99 out of 100 times. Great sub fighters are probably going to be Lesnar's worst nightmare for a long long time. Add in the fact that Lesnar isn't going to hurt Nog with any GnP or standup, EVER (If fedor couldnt finish Nog with the most brutal GnP I've ever seen, Lesnar sure as hell won't) Nog submits him every single time.
I think Werdum, despite his poor showing, has a good chance. I wasn't REALLY disputing that point as much as the point that Lesnar WILL become the UFC HW champ. I don't think he can make it past Nog, or even Mir, for a while. Sub specialists are probably going to be his downfall for quite a while.
Emelianenko , Kharitonov , Arlovski , Barnett , Jr Silva , Werdum (even though he recently got koed)... Sure bets would be: Emelianenko Barnett Nogueira (prime) Nogueira hasn't been the same since 2005...(that's why i'm reffering to the prime version of that guy) Hell i'd even bet on good ol Nastula (but since he tested positive the last time...i don't think we'll ever see him fight in america)... I'd also give emelianenko's brother a chance.. 2 or 3 years ago , i also would've mentioned crocop but today he's ****... But in 2008...the sure bets for beating a guy like Lesnar are the big 3. (barnett , emelianenko , Nog)... Mir also has the potential to win the rematch imo. Lesnar is quite one dimensional but too strong and too good in wrestling to be taken lightly... And the key to beat a guy like this is by submission. That's why Couture vs Lesnar is 50/50 I'd like to believe that Couture will pull a submission but i'm not 100% sure about it. He's been subbed 3 times in his career and has only pulled one sub in his entire career. Another problem is that Lesnar seems to be quite endurant for a guy of his size. I don't think he'll even gas... I'd love to see an unexpected finish...Such as Couture KOing Lesnar via hk . Anyway risky fight...I wouldn't bet any money on it because it can go either way. It's a real paradox because Couture is so much more experienced but at the same time...It's hard to forget Couture's fights against the likes of barnett , randleman & ricco.
The guy hasn't even been really tested yet and people are all over him, he's the new Vera i swear... Pretty much every name that boxingcar mentioned would either TKO or Sub Lesnar.
I think this may be one fight too far foe Couture, I would love him to win but I just got a feeling that Lesner will pull it off.
