I voted for snv just because it's funny lol.

Statistically speaking it would have to round up to a ten because he's in the top 5% of boxers in history.

But from a standard definition point of view i'd put joe louis and robinson at 10. The two most skilled in history imo.

I believe floyd is currently top 40 atg but has the skillset of a top 15 atg. For that reason i'm gonna say he aint perfect but he's the next best category: 9.

From a technical standpoint Hopkins is superior to Floyd which is why he can do it at 46 even though he doesn't have Floyd's speed, reflexes, pop, and stamina.

Hopkins is definitely the most technical fighter today and has been for years.

floyd is more technically gifted than louis and srr.
i'm not having a go at you but you are unable to give a current fighter the credit he deserves over a fighter from yesteryear.
you are often blinded by nostalgia

The scary thing is Floyd has all of those other attributes as well. He has the heart, mindset,Chin, and Stamina thats why he is the best boxer in the sport right now.

Why be defensive on your opinion, looks like you have doubt on it.

I would disagree with this, I respect Hopkins ability and craftsmanship, but he's also been beaten multiple times "recently", and while skilled he obviously has some deficiencies as well.

The best 2 techincal fighters of the last 20-25 years are Whitaker and McCallum IMO.

Nostalgia? Mate i'm 23. Got into boxing when tyson released from prison and eubank, nez and bruno were flying the flag.

Considering I said I put floyd in my top 40, that means I put him in the top percent of boxers every to have laced up the gloves meaning there is over 99% of boxers receiving less credit than I give to floyd.

I hesitate go give Floyd a ten because of some basic mistakes some people don't see. It's not a matter of bashing or anything, since he's the best technical fighter around today aside from Hopkins, but they exist:

He sticks his chin out when he throws instead of tucking it behind the shoulder.

He sometimes throws his left hook a little wide and open/slapped (both of the above usually harmless because of his speed, but both contributed to the 2nd round Mosley shot).

He lacks in-range lateral movement and fights in straight lines.

He backs up in a straight line when pressed.

He becomes stationary when forced on the back-foot, instead of changing the angle.

He sometimes leans in when he throws his right.

All those things aside, he is truly great. It is always a pleasure watching his versatility in the ring, and I can't wait to see him against Ortiz.

I don't understand how people can say Mayweather's defence is anything less then a 10. It's about as perfect as you can get in boxing.

I am the biggest mayweather fan out there but I am alway true and honest about the pros and cons of every fighter mayweaher included. Mayweather does everything right, he blocks, slips, rolls, cirlces both directions, in and out, has tremondous mall around movements, jabs, counters, hooks, upper cuts, rights, lead rights, lead hooks, great stamina, heart, and also making adjustments, there is none better. but I see that he has problems with a good fast jab, that is his kryptonite. Again, utilizing all these attributes and skills to make adjustements diminishes the power of the kryptonite.
