... i'm wondering, what's BHOP supposed to do to make him a clear frontrunner here? i like the guy, but it's clear that majority are considering pac and pbf..

    50s Ray Robinson
    60s Muhammad Ali
    70s Roberto Duran
    80s Ray Leonard
    90s Roy Jones Jnr
    00s ...

I agree with the mass consensus, I give Pacquiao the 00s unless he loses to Mayweather in the near future.

Just to be clear. how are we ranking the fighter of the decade? is it p4p better fighter or the more accomplished fighter? the reason why i ask is becuase I said pbf is the fighter of this decade 2000, but if pacquiao were to beat him, do people think he'll certainaly overtake him then?

Right, its Pacquaio. Losses aside, he has a better resume than Mayweather.

"if" that will happen, he will definitely overtake him because:

    1. he's the better fighter because he beat pbf
    2. he's has more accomplishment for beating a fighter of pbf's callibre..

.. about your question on how fighter ogf the decade is ranked? my guess is that it's "objective" like p4p.. combination of skills and accomplishments.

It should just come down to resume and accomplishments, not some subjective comparison of skills and ability.

i think it's "kind of" subjective combination of skills and resume/accomplishments... look at rjj, i think he got the 90's almost purely on his skills alone. if you would look only at "resumes" a few more names would pop out to claim that spot.

The top 3 of this decade are very close together, in terms of resume and accomplishments.

Is Muhamme Ali really the best fighter of the 60's? He had most of his best wins in the 70's. In the 60's he didn't really get into the mix until 1963, then got supsended in 1967. He was only a factor for about 3-4 years of the decade, during which he beat Sonny Liston twice, George Chuvalo and Floyd Patterson, and a few other decent fighters. It's still not bad, but surely someone must have done a bit more in the 1960's?

Some of his more "marquee" wins were in the 70's I agree, but beating Liston x2, Cooper x2, Patterson, Chuvalo, Terrell, and Cleveland Williams is no mean feat.
Add to that the fact that he went unbeaten as well as the manor of his victories and he is the fighter of the 60's for me.
