I think considering both achievement and H2H ability/promise I got them ranked like that. I am on the Kabayel bandwagon but he needs a step up in competition.
And he won't if somebody will give him a couple of million bucks. Somebody rich please just buy him out of the sport. Bet it's not expensive as one might think. Or feed him to Torres and he can be gone.
Your order is already correct. Parker is the most proven with the best resume so has to be ranked top. Exciting time for Parker fans, he seems to be peaking and the future looks bright with potential big fights no doubt in his future. Dubois' win over Hrgovic is more impressive than any of the others best wins so this firmly puts him in the 2nd spot. He's elevated himself beyond to being seen as a genuine contender. Kabayel has impressed with his wins over Makhmudov and Sanchez and like Dubois elevated himself to contender level but Makh and Sanchez were always just hype jobs without a single win over any proven quality opponent. These 2 wins don't rate as highly as Dubois' win over Hrgovic. Anderson is still a prospect and yet to reach true contender status. The win over Martin was OK but he didn't impress in that step up in class, he needs to be carefully managed right now and the matchmaking done carefully to ensure he continues to progress but doesn't stagnate. But I don't have much faith in Top Rank, I suspect he'll be fed easy fights for a while and stagnate and when he does step up gets exposed. Jalolov is still very much a prospect and we don't even know if he'll ever even try to achieve any more than he has, as he's spending most of his time it seems still fighting as an amateur. Until he takes his pro career seriously we can't even factor him in. Talent is there but the desire maybe lacking.
Don't mind the position of Parker, Dubois, Kabayel being interchangeable. It is kind of down to personal preference. Parker has the highest ranked wins, and he earnt them well on the cards, but there is a question mark over the age of opponent (is Wilder shot, does Zhang have the gas tank). The loss to Joyce hasn't quite been erased. Dubois answered a lot of questions about his will to win with the Miller victory (but that guy was completely out of shape). He underlined the point against Hrgovic (another guy not looking in good shape), a great win, but it was a cuts stoppage. For me, the manner of Kabayel's wins have been the most impressive (though against peers without top level wins as you say). Still, all questions were answered that were asked of him in those fights. Not sold on Anderson yet. And way too early to announce the arrival of Jalolov
Yeah, but is Parker (a former world champion) really to be considered a contender? I'd say he doesn't belong with the other names on that list. He's way more proven.
How many of you think actually Parker beats Kabayel? Parker is still the same Parker he was before, he merely performed well against Wilder and Zhang, because stylistically, they played into his hands far better than many of his recent opponents. Both are low output, with fairly easy to dodge power punches, that he could pick apart from range or sporadically ambush, flurry on and outwork. But front foot heavy high volume guys like Joyce and Chisora will always be problematic for him, just like Takam and Ruiz were problematic for him. Which is exactly why Kabayel would be very problematic for him. Agit wouldn't let him breathe.
Jalolov looks like he is going down the Hrgovic route. Fights twice a year against people I've never heard of
Exactly... Parker is a contender. Dubois and Kabayel are fringe contenders, probably. Jalolov and Anderson are prospects... Jalolov being nearly 30 and still a prospect says a lot about his interest in stepping up.
Difference is, Parker has a resume. Kabayel looks decent, and probably gives plenty of guys a good fight... But his best win is probably still Chisora - beating overhyped Makh and Sanchez isn't enough to catapult him straight into getting the benefit of the doubt against Parker IMHO.
