i put it bhind the 90's tbh. i think the 90'2 will be remembered as a truly great era. tyson, holyfield, lewis, bowe, dougls, bruno, hide, foreman, moorer, morrison, mercer, ruddock, briggs, mccall.

some very good level of competition there. it was a cracking era.

It was relevant to your post calling Haye a great fighter; which is laughable.

nah in todays picture them 3 are our 3 great heavies. it is true. wlad has the longevity behind him and is quite consistent. vitali is a bit unproven but has fought well since his comeback. haye again is unproven but his short time at heavyweight includes 3 good victories and his speed and athleticism make him competitive vs a lot of fighters of a similar size.

    70's and 90's were good

ppl say now is the worst but how bout in the 20's when Dempsey took 3 yrs off and had little to worry about

how about Tunney's reign no contenders at all

there were periods where the division was weak early 80's when it was Holmes a mile ahead of every one else

other eras were bad its just now with 4 titles and all it looks worse but this era couldnt be as bad as some

The top 2 are up there with the top 2 of any era. Its obviously a steep drop from there though.

Vitali unproven? Trying to lump Haye with Vitali. :patsch

Monte was a decent win for his 2nd fight at HW but he was demolished in 2 by Solis.
The Valuev fight was one of the worst title winning performances of all time. It was embarrassing.
Ruiz was washed-up but it was a decent scalp.

I really believe a prime Ruiz would have beat Haye that night...

And what exactly would have done a prime Ruiz differently in comparison to 2010 Ruiz? In fact Ruiz was the same fighter for the last decade. Even in his prime he wasn't fast, didn't have blinding handspeed or devastating power. Ruiz prefered to clinch whenever a opponent was in arm length distance and win by MD here and there against okay opposition. How would that work out against Haye?

Haye gets a lot of **** for his recent ducking of the Klits but people tend to undererstimate him when it comes to skill, speed und general H2H ability. He shits on every opponent Ruiz has ever fought and not lost to (and on a lot he lost to like Valuev, old Holy, Chagaev) und would have no chance to go 12 Rounds with Haye no matter if prime or not.

Its very poor, I can understand those who say its good but for those who say its the best, its just ****ing ridiculous, how can this era full of fat contenders like Arreola, Solis be the best era....:nut

Ah... I miss the glorious mid-80s in the heavyweight division, where ATGs like Michael Dokes, Gerrie Coetzie, Tim Witherspoon, Pinklon Thomas, Tony Tubbs, Greg Page, Trevor Berbick and James Smith ruled.
    Those were the days.
