    The great Jack Johnson...

-lost his fourth bout, in 1899, via TKO5 against Klondike Haynes.

-through the first four years of his career, he began with a record of 5 wins, 3 losses, 5 draws, 2 ND's. There are many a notable opponent in that lot including the infamous KO3 loss to Joe Choynski.

Rodrigo Valdes suffered the only stoppage loss of his career in his 9th fight, 2nd year as a pro against a non-notable opponent.

Harry Wills lost, KO2, in his 6th fight, 1 year into his career.

Arturo Gatti lost a 6-round split decision in his 7th fight one and a half years into his career to a non-notable opponent.
