Seven boxers have advanced from the Wray & Nephew Contender Tourney heats, with a single vacant slot remaining (to be determined next Wednesday night, with Miguel Antoine vs. Daniel Powell).

I'm not sure this performance marks Stevens as good enough to be a co-favorite with DeMarcus Corley, but he can box. I've seen worse debuts for certain...and you have to commend digging out from an early hole and showing more hunger than your opponent down the stretch. That beats having it go the other way, blowing an early lead.
