I`d say average at best, I`ll give him the benefit of the doubt & say average because the next level down is poor & I wouldn`t go that far.

He was stopped twice by more or less one punch knockouts so saying he had a good chin, which is the next level up on the poll, is too much credit IMO.

    Average :good

No, stop it, just stop the shite.... his chin was nowhere near great, his chin is the sole reason he ever lost.

As would almost anyone be if they were hit by Briggs and Vitali. An "average chin at best" would have been cracked by either of those two men, let alone by the like of Tua, Tyson, Morrison, Bruno etc. It's actually amazing that Lewis was only ever knocked down twice in his professional career considering the punchers he fought. As for being hurt multiple times, well Ali was hurt multiple times wasn't he? In the heavyweight division, if you haven't been hurt at least once then you're either not fighting the tough fights or you're Tex Cobb.

Did it occur to you that the guys hitting him, hit VERY hard?
A prime Briggs was a murderous puncher.

McCall/Rahman were both big punchers, who literally couldnt have landed any sweeter if they fought Lewis 10 times.

Klitschko landed as hard as he could on Lewis and he couldnt finish an old heavy Lewis, so what does that say?

Holyfield didnt exactly have him in trouble either.

He had a decent chin. He just had a habit of turning up to certain fights thinking he'd already won so he left himself open to being knocked out. If you leave your chin exposed you are going to get knocked out doesn't matter how good you can take a punch you will be sparked.

they do hit hard, but if they landed these punches on Vitaly, Mccall or Chuvalo they wouldn't get hurt. That's why they have great chins and Lewis has average chin.

Just because he didn't get KOed against Tua or Morrison doesn't make his chin great. According to this logic if you fight a couple of good fight against punchers and don't get KOed you have iron chin? Even if you get KOed or hurt against others? Then Amir Khan has iron chin too.

    Face it klit stans

Either Vitali has pathetic power to not be able to KO Lewis after landing so many clean shots on him or that Lewis has a chin that is forged from tungsten in comparison to Wlads

    TKO 6 either way

Where did I say his chin was great? My comparison to Ali was to show that being hurt when you've fought the sort of punchers both guys have fought is no disgrace.

He had an average chin. It was easily his biggest weakness.

Not that it mattered most of the time. He usually had superior boxing skills to compensate for it.

have you ever seen Vitali hit with shots like that?
    Ever?

The only guy Ive seen hit Vitali hard was Lewis.

And even then, he didnt hit him with wild, swinging haymakers like McCall and Rahman hit Lewis with.
