John David Jackson is the most underrated, least spotlighted trainer in the game. He was also a great fighter.
its because he is a cry baby ***** did you hear the interview with him on onthegrind radio? he says he came up with the whole gameplan for bhop-pavlik and Nazim got the credit for it, also that Nazim used the same gameplan for mosley-margo.
I like JDJ, and he is underrated. He doesnt have any big time fighters right now. He was training Mosely for a while. He is very calm in the corner and speaks well. Very knowlegable. I like Goossen as well. He did a great job with Casamayor against Corrales, and than with Corrales against Casamayor.
Okay, that's a bit of a dick move by Jackson to undermine Nazim, a good friend and fellow trainer like that... but hey.. who's to say it isn't true? Whenever you see Nazim, Jackson was always nearby. They train fighters together all the time... so who's to say it isn't true? Still a dick move though.. I swear to god.. even when these two are not in a fighter's corner, they are still at EVERY fight. You always see them together, either in the front row or part of some entourage or something..
Yeah I heard that. I don't believe it either. Not to say he didn't help, but the whole game plan? I doubt it.
JDJ is one of those guys who should never open his mouth, he says Pac avoided black fighters and that Roach would never let him fight shane mosley, then he goes onto say if Floyd doesn't fight Mosley thats alright because Mosley is a tough fighter:nut on the same interview he discredited both Floyd sr and Freddie Roach, both are 3x the trainer he is. when nazim was asked about them in an interview he had nothing but good things to say.
