Since when is Ibragimov a puncher? Who did he ever blow away? He couldn't buzz an ancient Holyfield and this was the same Holyfield that was battered and stopped by James Toney - a middleweight.

Briggs in his later years fought absolutely nobody. There isn't a chance the version Vitali beat could take 12 rounds of Lewis teeing off on his face. He's be sparked out , just like he was in 1998.

If you watched Ibragimov he was one heck of a puncher.

Briggs fought nobody in hos later years? Okay I guess Ibragaimov, McCline, and Klitschko were " nobody " .

I seen Ibragimov and he didn't look like a hitter to me. Who did he ever blow away?. Why do you act like you are the only person to have seen these guys fight? Ibragimov never looked like he could crack an egg if im being brutally honest. He was in no way shape or form a 'puncher'.

Briggs fought MaCline in 2002. Is that loss what earned him a title shot against Vitali in 2010?

" Still waiting for those Jackson and Johnson fights you say Siler refereed! Did you forget to post them? " -Mcvey

I think you have a reading problem or some form of ADD. If this is the case, just say so and you won't be held in contempt.

I already told you Siler refereed at least one Battle Royal with Jack Johnson in it and sat ringside for other matches.

If you want to learn more about why he felt Jackson was better than Johnson, read his book, Inside facts of Pugilism.

Calling people out when you have been corrected or given information to answer your questions isn't a hallmark you want. Yet you continue to do it.

Now if you want to use Briggs as a gauge for punching power, he says Vitali hit harder than Foreman. Briggs paid a toll for going the distance in a fight you and I both agree should have been stopped because Vitali was having his way with Briggs for 12 rounds.
I agree Lewis hit harder than Vitali, but I also think Briggs had better punch resistance as he bulked up in weight.

As for who stopped who sooner, consider:

Bowe stopped Hide in 5, Vitali just two rounds

Wlad went the distance with Peter, and stopped him in 10, Vitali stopped him in 9 rounds

Purrity was hardly ever stopped. Just twice. In his 2nd pro fight and vs Vitali. Vitali Stopped him and Purrity fought MANY punchers.

Vitlai was the lone man to stop V Bean. Holy and Moorer took him the distance.

Larry Donald was never stopped by anyone but Vitali

Lennox Lewis took Levi Billups ten rounds, the distance. Vitali quickly ended the same man in two rounds!

Did anyone stop Kirk Johnson faster?

    Learning anything today???

Hide pulled a quit job in that fight. It looked very similar to the Olin Norris fight.

Purrity was pulled out on cuts. He was never close to going down or getting knocked out.

Byrd couldn't take a clean shot off Ike Ibeauchi , but he took Vitali's best shots like they were nothing. I see you voted Vitali a 9 , does this mean Ike is a 10?

Yes I think Ike hit a little harder. I'd say Vitali is a 9, and Ike a 9.5.

I do not think you've seen Ibragimov fight much but he could really punch.

Purrity was beaten on. I'll see if I can track down a quote of his on the fight.

I've told you several times I have read Siler's book and I have it on my PC!
You stated that Siler refereed both Jackson and Johnson several times and I know ,and have proved he did not!
I have posted his entire refereeing record several times do I need to post all 212 of the fights he refereed?

N.B .Siler never referred a Battle Royal!
You are a lying," See you next Tuesday".I know it and you know it.
ps. I have no problem reading ,and I can spell VITALI too!lol

I have my teeth into you and I am never letting go.
Do you know what the word NEMESIS means?
Look it up you brain dead m*ron.

You obviously didnt watch shavers vs ali if u think ali literally just stood in front of him the whole fight.

All the people you mentioned, Shavers dropped tillis, lyle, holmes, and mercado and against ali he had him seriously hurt but ali played possum and tricked him into backing off so he could recover. Against mercado, shavers hit so goddamn hard he caused a cut, a knockdown, and made his own glove explode all at the sane time which forced the ref to pause the fight until shavers could get a new glove...giving mercado plentu of time to recover. So how do u say he lacks power when he staggered and/or dropped all the guys u mentioned? That doesnt even make sense. Funny thing is all the guys you mentioned list Shavers as the hardest hitter they fought...

Theres a difference between being able to deliver punching power and being a good "finisher". Shavers tended to get wild when he had his man hurt and didnt always put his punches together well. David Lemiux hit harder than Ray Leanard but Leanard was better at finisging guys off and not letting them off the hook.

As for my thoughts on the thread, vitali is a 7 at best, 8 would be extremely generous. As others pointed out, many of his opponents were fat plodders or past their prime journeyman/contenders who lacked defense and would walk in a straight line toward Vitali (which would actually increase the damage his punches did) and yet, Vitali would need multiple rounds of non stop power punches to force a ref or corner stoppage.

He was a very strong man but theres a big difference between physical strength and power. Underrated boxing skill and ring generalship, along with his tall frame, allowed for him to stay out of danger and place shots well. Yet despite all these advantages and skill, fighting in a weak era, he lacks a highlight reel of "put your lights out" KO's and its obvious why. Very heavy handed with a lot of volume but thats about it.

Ibragimov actually knocked out 4 men.
Tracy Williams1-5-0 . Williams record is 1-10-0 with 7 losses by ko
Carlos Barcelete 19-10-2Barcelete's record is19-20-2 with 17 ko losses
Piotr Sapun 8-3-0 Sapun's record is 10-22-2 with 20 ko losses
Nasee Shahhed 19-6-2 Shaheed's record is 21-12-2 with 6 ko losses
4 men with a total of 121 fights between them and 47 ko losses between them!
Ibragimov fought three heavyweights of any class ,a 35 years old Briggs who weighed 273lbs for that fight and retired immediately after it.
Evander Holyfield who was I week off of 45 years old .
    Wladimir Klitschko
Ibragimov didn't floor any of them ,he isn't a puncher at anywhere near top level.
    Lyakhovich ko'd 4 men

Anthony Curry 5-7-1 his record is 5-8-1 with 2 ko losses

    Lyakhovich was never a puncher.

17 Ko's in 22 fights. Hardly a weak puncher. You are a moron. I'd show you or McVey video but you would not watch it.
