Remember Bowe's second fight with Golota when he spent his whole training camp losing weight and then he was weak for the fight. I think the same thing may have happened to Austin. He was 247 five weeks ago and now he is 228. That is an average of losing 4 pounds a week, which is not healthy. I think a more ideal weight would have been for Austin to come in around 237, lose some fat and keep some muscle. Golota is a very strong fighter and I am predicting a knockout now.
I couldn't believe it when I saw it. The last picture I have of Austin is him getting starched by Wladimir so I have to remind myself that outside of that he's really not a bad fighter. I still think Golota beats him either way. I just hope that Valuev gives Golota the title shot when he does. As for Mollo, he might just be able to win this fight cuz McCline is so timid in there. Whenever he opens up he does well though so if he decides to throw some big punches he could have Mollo in trouble. I'll never forget watching McCline beat Boswell in the 10th round thinking to myself "where was this aggression in the other 9 rounds?" Not to mention the fact that he battered Samuel Peter when he opened up and let his hands go. McCline has his moments but they're too far and few between. His stamina has alot to do with that I'm sure.
I too was thinking of Bowe when this thread came up. Too much weight, too little time. He will show up weaker with this kind of weight loss.
I don't think he is that bad. Not a world beater sure, but still, he is a fairly sound fighter by todays heavyweight standards.
I agree with all of what you said. I don't like Mollo at all. Arrogant as all hell. I like McCline, but I wish that he would let out some fury/aggression when he throws his punches. He needs to sit on his punches more. And I also think that Austin will give Golota trouble as far as the style matchups are concerned. That and with Golota's advanced age. I will be rooting for Austin, but my prediction is that Golota bags it.
Jameel sometimes fails to shine when he is in against a young upstart, i just hope nerves dont get to him, Austin is light but i give massive praise for such great work.. He will beat Golota if he stays busy and moves a lot more than he did against Klitschko.......... 4 well honed heavys to be honest..
The fight would start at about 6 am Friday morning if I am not mistaken.(ET North America). Sorry I won't be getting up for this.
:good :good :good :good :good Austin is the worst bum, that ever got a mandatory title shot. He should have had this weight against Klitschko, now its just too little too late. If Golota has anything left, then he“ll knock Austin the **** out.
