As far as I'm concerned, the worst match-up for a David Haye is a fighter with an iron jaw in addition to knockout power...that's David Tua, that's Vitali Klitschko, that's George Foreman, that's Ray Mercer, to a lesser extent.
Well, a 47 year-old Holyfield would be a step up from both Barrett and Valuev. Haye is unproven, that's the bottom line. And his chin is very suspect indeed. I'm not saying I'd favour a 47 year-old Holyfield to beat him, but I'd give him a real chance. Then again, I was one of the few people on ESB who gave Holyfield any sort of chance against Valuev - most here were saying the giant might actually kill him. Despite what we saw in the Valuev fight, David Haye is out to show the world he's an "exciting" fighter. In other words, explosive but reckless and chinny.
see I think just the opposite. I think he was reckless with some of the lower level fighters, but now that hes in the upper echelon were going to see a more reserved David Haye. His short comings will come out if he doesnt, and I think he knows it. So really I expect more mouth with little substance to back it up in the ring, meaning more boring careful fights. Time will tell I guess, he will have his hands full with Ruiz.
agreed. only one winner here. mercer by KO. no question. cant understand all the kudos given to Haye. He was KO'd by a 40/41yr old cruiserweight
