Razor Ruddock, where did it all go wrong?

    The part you read about is part of the Lennox Lewis biography where Lennox talks about him and their amateur fight. Ruddock was the first guy to ever beat Lennox in the ring and it was another result Lewis avenged that is rarely mentioned. But it was bulking up due strictly to weightlifting. and he developed those huge shoulders.

    The other thing that came into play with Ruddock was the myriad of trainers the guy had. A guy goes through a ton of trainers like that doesn't tell you something, it screams it. He had a ton of guys before getting Chuvalo to help. and he added a bunch more afterwards. Hard sport to excel in so many different guys in that corner.

    I think these posts are right on the money. He was a dangerous fighter with tremendous power, but also limited. He had enough to beat faded ex-titlists like Weaver, Dokes, and Page, but wouldn't have had more than the proverbial "puncher's chance" against the truly elite.
